Days of Our Lives (DOOL) spoilers tease that Abigail DiMera (Kate Mansi) is in quite a difficult spot right now. As DOOL viewers know, Abigail was drugged by an unknown someone, and the drug that she ingested was a powerful and experimental hallucinogen that apparently altered her brain chemistry and has been causing her to have terrifying hallucinations.
Now Abigail is institutionalized in a facility in Florida where she’s getting intensive treatment. But recently, Chad DiMera (Billy Flynn) shared with Jack Deveraux (Matthew Ashford) that Abigail wasn’t really getting better at the facility.
As Chad stated, the drug seemed to cause permanent changes in Abigail’s brain, and she’s continuing to have terrifying hallucinations. It’s preventing Abigail from coming home and being with the kids, and it’s causing Jack and Jennifer Deveraux (Melissa Reeves) considerable angst.
Well, as you might know by now, Abigail will be returning down the road, with Marci Miller taking over the role once again. Marci portrayed Abigail back from 2016-2018, and scores of fans will be thrilled to have her back in the role.
But given that Abigail is doing so poorly at the facility in Florida and her progress is limited, how is it that she’ll come back? Well, one possibility is that Abigail will finally make some strides in her treatment. The doctors could stumble upon a cure.
Or perhaps Abigail will decide on her own that she needs to get back to Salem and to her family. Abigail could leave treatment against medical advice, figuring that she can deal with the hallucinations when they come.
For example, Abigail could decide that she’s going to have the hallucinations no matter where she is, so she may as well be in Salem. Abigail is a hands-on mom, and she could decide that she needs to be back in town for her kids.
DOOL spoilers indicate that Abigail will be back in town with a vengeance, so she could decide that if anyone’s going to figure out who drugged her, then it’s going to have to be her.
According to Jack and Jennifer, Abigail was quite distraught when Gabi DiMera (Camila Banus) was found not guilty of drugging her, and Abigail may decide that she needs to come back and question Gabi directly and then go sleuthing for the real culprit.
And since DOOL spoilers say that Chad will soon have Gwen (Emily O’Brien) living in the DiMera Mansion, Abigail could get word of that and decide that she needs to be back home with her husband pronto.
Abigail might want to find out who this Gwen person is and exactly what’s going on between Gwen and Chad. The bottom line here is that there are several urgent reasons why Abigail could want to head home and continue her treatment in Salem.
We’ll see what happens here, but we’re looking forward to seeing Marci Miller’s version of Abigail back in Salem. Abigail can finally get to the bottom of who tried to do her in with that hallucinogenic drug!
