Days of Our Lives (DOOL) spoilers tease that there’s some shocking casting news to report – and involves the recast of a major character. Although there’s no official confirmation just yet, DOOL insiders are offering up some strong buzz about Cady McClain stepping into the role of Jennifer Deveraux.
Melissa Reeves is currently still airing as Jennifer, but she reportedly hasn’t been back to film following the shutdown. So where’s Jennifer? It looks like Jenn will resurface in the form of McClain based on this strong insider buzz and McClain’s recent Instagram follows.
McClain has been following plenty of Days of Our Lives stars and other DOOL-related accounts, so that’s a huge indicator that she’s joining the cast. When a former soap actress suddenly starts following accounts that connect to another soap, it seems like a no-brainer.
McClain is obviously following her new costars – and insiders back up the idea that this Jennifer recast is happening.
We should also talk about where you might recognize McClain from. McClain played Dixie Cooney on All My Children as well as Rosanna Cabot on As the World Turns.
Most recently, McClain portrayed Kelly Andrews on The Young and the Restless. She concluded that Genoa City stint in 2015, but now McClain is poised to reenter the soap world – in Salem this time around.
It’s worth noting that McClain recently posted a picture of herself with no makeup on Instagram – and the result is someone who could absolutely pass for Abigail DiMera’s (Marci Miller) mother.
It’s wild to see just how alike McClain and Miller look. That said, McClain will have big shoes to fill if this pans out like Days insiders suggest. Taking over the role from Reeves won’t be an easy task!
There’s no word on whether Reeves was fired, quit or was perhaps lowballed into rejecting an offer, but there was a scandal in recent months that may have set a firing in motion. Regardless, it certainly sounds like McClain’s set to slide in Reeves’ spot as Jennifer.
