Days of Our Lives Spoilers: Friday, August 21 Recap - Eve Hears From Eduardo - Vincent’s Sinister Ben Plan For Ciara's Death

Days of Our Lives (DOOL) spoilers recap for Friday, August 21, reveal that Eve Donovan (Kassie DePaiva) sat at the motel looking through a box of Paige Larson’s (True O’Brien) childhood things. Eve put on Paige’s necklace, saying that she missed her daughter so much and that it was 6 years ago today when Paige was murdered by Ben Weston (Robert Scott Wilson).

Soon, Vincent (Michael Teh) entered, and he asked Eve if she was dressed and ready for a funeral. Eve said she was dressed for a celebration because today Ben would feel her pain. Eve said that she knew how to make her revenge against Ben even sweeter. “Are you interested?” Eve said. “I’m all ears,” Vincent mused.

Later, Eve sat alone on the floor going through old pictures of Paige and singing Paige’s unfinished song to herself. Eve’s phone rang, and Eve looked put off when she saw who it was.

Eve answered, sarcastically saying, “What a surprise. I should have known that I’d hear from you today.” Eve called the person on the other end “Eddie” who was clearly Eduardo Hernandez (A Martinez) and yelled at him for doing nothing to help her for 6 long years, saying that she didn’t need his sympathy now.

At the Salem Inn, Ben had another nightmare, this time about Eve strangling Ciara Weston (Victoria Konefal) right before his eyes. Ben woke up with a start, and Ciara worried about him.

Ciara was glad that Ben had another appointment with Marlena Evans (Deidre Hall) later, and when Ben checked his phone, he realized it was 6 years ago that he killed Paige.

Ciara and Ben talked about whether Ben deserved forgiveness for what he had done, and Ciara thought that Ben should forgive himself. Ben didn’t think that was possible, but Ciara insisted that Ben was a different person 6 years ago.

Ciara said the Eve would get caught and go to prison, and that she wouldn’t let Eve do anything to hurt him ever again.

At the police station, Jennifer Deveraux (Melissa Reeves) and Jack Deveraux (Matthew Ashford) checked in with Rafe Hernandez (Galen Gering) about the search for Eve.

Jack and Jennifer worried about what Eve was capable of. Later, Rafe was alone in his office when Ciara came in for an Eve update as well. Rafe said there was no news yet. Ciara noted that she was worried about Ben, who wasn’t acting like himself.

Ciara and Rafe then talked about Hope Brady (Kristian Alfonso), and Ciara wanted to know if there was something going on between Rafe and Hope. Ciara pressed the issue, and Rafe finally admitted that they shared a moment recently, but that he wasn’t sure about how Hope felt.

Ciara urged Rafe to talk with Hope, and Rafe seemed like he was ready to do so.

At the hospital, Marlena was in John Black’s (Drake Hogestyn) room while John was in surgery. Hope walked in and offered her support. Marlena said that Belle Black (Martha Madison) had gone home to get some sleep. Hope offered to do whatever she could to help.

In the waiting area, Steve Johnson (Stephen Nichols) talked with Sami Brady (Alison Sweeney) via phone briefly, then Kayla Brady (Mary Beth Evans) walked up and Steve asked how John’s surgery went.

Kayla said that John made it through, but that he wasn’t out of the woods yet, and that they wouldn’t know the full impact of the aneurism until he woke up.

Hope joined Steve and Kayla and wanted to help, so she took Kayla away for some food. Steve went into John’s room and sat with John while Marlena went to her office to cancel her appointments for the day. Steve sat with John, telling him, “You’re my hero, my partner, I need you to come back.”

In Marlena’s office, Ben arrived for his therapy session, but Marlena said that she needed to cancel due to John’s aneurism. Ben was sorry to hear about John and he offered comfort to Marlena as a friend.

Ben thought that since Marlena had given him so much, that he could offer his support now. Marlena and Ben hugged, and Marlena cried in his arms.

Marlena then got herself pulled together, and she gave Ben the name of another psychiatrist to call. Ben suddenly had a feeling of deja vu from when he encountered Vincent in Marlena’s office the other day, but he didn’t actually remember the encounter. Ben wished Marlena and John well, and he left.

At the Brady Pub, Kayla and Hope arrived and joined Jack and Jennifer at a table. Jack and Jennifer learned about John’s aneurism, and Jack decided to head over to the hospital and be there for Steve.

Once Jack was gone, Hope mentioned being back on the police force, and that led to a conversation about Rafe. Kayla and Jennifer wondered what it was like working with Rafe again, and they quickly learned that Hope and Rafe had recently hugged.

Jennifer and Kayla wanted all the details, and after hearing them, they decided that Hope should definitely tell Rafe how she feels and see how he feels. Hope took off to go see Rafe, and Jennifer and Kayla decided to go back to the hospital to support Marlena and John.

In John’s room, Jack entered to find Steve sitting with John. Jack quietly sat down next to Steve, noting that John was always more of a brother to Steve than he ever was. Steve said that John and Jack were both his brothers.

Marlena arrived, and she took over sitting with John. Marlena hugged John and asked him to come back to her. Suddenly, John’s body lurched in crisis and the machines started beeping. “John, No!” Marlena cried.

Back at the police station, Hope arrived in Rafe’s office, saying that they needed to talk. Rafe agreed, but then his phone rang, interrupting them. Rafe listened, then hung up, saying, “I know where Eve Donovan is.”

At the Salem Inn, Ben returned alone, and Vincent emerged from the bathroom, saying, “Hello, Ben.” Ben told Vincent to get out, but Vincent smoothly said that he wasn’t going anywhere. Ben threatened to call the cops, and Vincent said that Ben would obey him and do what he said, exactly how he said.

Outside the room in the hallway, Ciara walked up talking to Claire Brady (Isabel Durant) on the phone. Ciara told Claire that the police were still looking for Eve and Vincent. “They better hope they get caught by the police, because if I see them first, I swear to god I’m going to kill them,” Ciara said. Ciara then went to open the door.

Inside the room, Ben gazed at Vincent, who asked if they were clear about what Ben was going to do. Ben clutched a necktie in his fist.
