Days of Our Lives (DOOL) spoilers tease that Gabi Hernandez DiMera’s (Camila Banus) departure and return could bring some romantic shakeups. DOOL fans have probably heard by now that Gabi’s exiting on August 28, but she’ll make an onscreen comeback this fall.
That’ll definitely benefit Days since Gabi always brings the drama, but we should also talk about how this return will change storylines.
When Gabi was written out, Days seemingly had no way of knowing if Camila Banus would sign on for another stint. They had to move ahead with other writing plans in the meantime, so Jake Lambert (Brandon Barash) may get a new love interest.
There’s been buzz about Jake potentially falling for Abigail DiMera (Marci Miller), which makes sense under the circumstances.
After all, Days could’ve just left Abigail off screen at her treatment facility in Florida. Instead, they thought Abigail was important enough to recast her again – albeit with a familiar version of Abby.
Miller’s Abigail might end up falling for Jake, especially if Chad DiMera (Billy Flynn) and Gwen Rizchech (Emily O’Brien) get closer.
Gabi already caught Gwen planting a kiss on Chad. That was just Gwen’s attempt to make Jake jealous, but it set the stage for trouble. Days of Our Lives spoilers say Gwen will continue her efforts to manipulate Jake through Chad, so this could cause issues in Chad’s marriage.
If Abigail feels like Chad’s drifting toward Gwen, perhaps Abby will drift toward Jake.
Gabi will share some hot scenes with Jake before she departs, so she’ll give him a little taste and leave him wanting more. Jake should be crushed when Gabi leaves town and cuts their potential future together short.
As Jake longs for what might’ve been, he may lean on Abigail and begin to wonder what might be with her, too!
Now that we know Gabi’s returning in the fall, will that change the show’s plans for Jake and Abigail? Will Jake forget all about Abby once Gabi resurfaces or wind up torn?
The latter might be the best option since it’d fuel Gabi and Abigail’s rivalry all over again. This could set up some great autumn action once Gabi’s back in the picture.
Will Days of Our Lives go for a new love triangle featuring Gabi, Jake and Abigail? How will Chad and Gwen fit in all this? It’ll be interesting to see how DOOL rewrites things so that Gabi can reenter the mix! We’ll keep you posted as other Days news and updates become available.
