Days of Our Lives (DOOL) spoilers reveal that Gabi DiMera (Camila Banus) is in for a shock when she finds out about Jake Lambert’s (Brandon Barash) devious ex-girlfriend, Gwen (Emily O’Brien). Gabi’s focused on getting her marriage back on track, which can only happen if Jake is Stefan DiMera (Brandon Barash) and remembers his love for Gabi.
Jake told Ben he has a lifetime of his own memories – although he did ponder the idea of Gabi being right about him being someone else. Of course, we have to point out that the story DOOL’s presenting doesn’t make much sense. Jack Deveraux (Matthew Ashford) had no idea who he was when he returned to town and was fully aware of his amnesia.
Likewise, Will Horton (Chandler Massey) was a blank slate when he was found living with Susan Banks (Stacy Haiduk). Will only believed he was EJ DiMera because that’s what he’d been told. It wasn’t a case where he had someone else’s memories, so Will knew he had amnesia, too.
Other characters like Hope Brady (Kristian Alfonso) and Steve Johnson (Stephen Nichols) were transformed into other people through microchips. They weren’t saved from the brink of death through a serum.
It wasn’t a side effect; it was a plot. Hope and Steve’s situation was completely different, so it doesn’t add up for Stefan to be given some random guy named Jake’s memories.
It seems likely that Stefan is only pretending to be Jake, but how does this ex-girlfriend fit in? That could be a way to throw viewers off the trail somewhat. However, we have to keep in mind that an extra year has passed on Days due to the time jump.
That would’ve given Stefan a chance to move on from Gabi and meet this sneaky ex-girlfriend that’s about to come on the scene.
Then again, Days of Our Lives could be reaching back into Stefan’s history here. DOOL fans may recall that Stefan was once Sam Maitland, an orphan who was sent to boarding school and grew up in the United Kingdom. Days of Our Lives buzz says Gwen will be played by Emily O’Brien, who happens to be a British actress.
It was only after Sam reconnected with his birth mother, Vivian Alamain (Louise Sorel), that he took the name Stefan O. DiMera and built a new life for himself in Salem.
In other words, this lifetime of memories Jake’s referring to may very well be Sam’s. Sam may have had a girlfriend named Gwen before he ever met Gabi, so that’s another option Days of Our Lives could go with.
Regardless, Gabi isn’t going to be happy when she hears about Gwen. Days of Our Lives spoilers say Gabi’s sure to be jealous – and a jealous Gabi is a dangerous Gabi!
DOOL is likely gearing up for some fierce showdowns between Stefan’s old love and his new one. Gabi will undoubtedly think she’s the superior love interest and will waste no time in letting Gwen know it.
