Days of Our Lives (DOOL) spoilers tease that JJ Deveraux (Casey Moss) will return to Salem this fall, so he’ll certainly spend some time catching up with his family. It’s possible JJ’s comeback will be short-term, but what happens if he sticks around for a bit? Could another love story be in JJ’s future?
JJ could use a new love interest – and maybe Gwen Rizchech (Emily O’Brien) could, too. DOOL fans know Gwen’s coming off a bad breakup with Jake Lambert (Brandon Barash). Although Gwen and Jake seem poised for a reunion based on fall preview info, they really need to move on.
Jake and Gwen’s relationship just isn’t healthy! They don’t treat each other right, so this seems like more of an addiction than love – especially for Gwen. Although Gwen will do some shady things and will become increasingly problematic down the road, JJ has been drawn to problematic women in the past.
There was Gabi Hernandez DiMera (Camila Banus) and even Theresa Donovan (Jen Lilley) back when Theresa was a bad girl. Of course, JJ’s a nice guy who’s on the straight and narrow these days, but that’s just another reason he needs a feisty character like Gwen by his side.
Pairing JJ up with nice gals like Paige Larson (True O’Brien) and Haley Chen (Thia Megia) has ended in disaster. Days of Our Lives killed both Paige and Haley off – and that’s presumably because most viewers were bored to death first.
JJ and Lani Price-Grant (Sal Stowers) weren’t a good match either. That was another “nice” pairing that was doomed from the start. Putting JJ with someone like Gwen would be refreshing and could finally give JJ a romance with some excitement in it. Gwen’s one of a kind and could definitely keep JJ on his toes.
Perhaps Gwen could even date JJ as a way to win Abigail’s trust initially. We know Abigail will be a bit wary due to Gwen and Chad DiMera’s (Billy Flynn) connection.
However, Gwen will try to befriend Abby and will wind up securing a position as “Chabby’s” nanny. If Abigail’s doubts persist, what better way to win Abigail over than by winning over her brother?
JJ’s approval could help Abigail put any doubts she’s facing to rest. Naturally, Gwen’s scheme could easily result in finding genuine love with JJ. Maybe Gwen would realize Jake isn’t the kind of guy she wants at all!
There’s no guarantee Days will pursue a romance for Gwen and JJ, but it’s a fun option to ponder. We’ll pass along updates as other Days news comes in. Days of Our Lives spoilers say some shockers are still ahead in Salem, so keep watching DOOL.
