Days of Our Lives (DOOL) spoilers tease that another major exit is coming up. DOOL fans have been hearing about several huge departures – and the latest one is certainly shocking! Kristian Alfonso has already filmed her last episode as Hope Brady and won’t be returning to set when production resumes in September.
In a statement to Deadline, Alfonso offered more details on this exit bombshell. Although the Days actress is grateful for this role and the opportunity she had to play it, Alfonso suggested she’s ready to move on. “I feel blessed and honored to have been invited into people’s homes for over three decades,” Alfonso said. “However, it is now time for me to write my next chapter.”
Of course, there’s no word on whether this was Alfonso’s decision, DOOL’s decision or perhaps a mutual one reached by all parties involved. Regardless, Alfonso seems at peace with the situation. We’re hearing that Alfonso’s final airdate will be in October, so Days viewers still have some time to enjoy Hope onscreen and say goodbye.
Alfonso first joined Days of Our Lives back in 1983, so she’s become a staple at the NBC soap. This popular DOOL star spent most of those 37 years onscreen at Days, so this is a tough and surprising loss for many fans.
As for how Hope will leave Salem behind, no story details have been announced just yet. We should note that Days buzz suggests this decision happened quite abruptly, so there may not have been time to film much of an exit. It could be a case where someone else explains what happened after Hope’s already left town.
Whatever the case, Days of Our Lives spoilers say Hope is OUT and will be departing DOOL this fall. There are more casting shakeups to come, so the canvas could look quite different down the road.
