Days of Our Lives (DOOL) spoilers tease has some sad news to pass on regarding a popular DOOL star. Lauren Koslow, who portrays Kate DiMera on the NBC soap, recently shared some heartbreaking news with her Instagram followers – that her family’s beloved rescue dog had passed away.
If you are fortunate enough to follow Lauren on Instagram, then you know that she is passionate about pet rescue, and that her pups appear often in her feed. Recently, Lauren shared several touching photos of the dog, named Fergie, along with a moving caption.
The caption reads: “Our hearts are broken. Rest in peace our beautiful girl – big mama to our pack, beloved by her family & friends – thanks for adopting us from the side of the road – who ever left you there ten years ago missed out on the most wonderful dog evrrrrrrr – forever & always in our hearts. We love you Ferg & we’ll see you again one day – enjoy your wings – run free.”
Lauren’s followers have been steadily replying to her announcement with messages of love and condolences. And many have empathized with Lauren and her family in their loss, noting their own recent pet losses. Anyone who has lost a fur baby knows how difficult that loss is.
Later, Lauren posted a video of Fergie cuddling with a stuffed toy and wagging her tail in response to Lauren’s voice. Lauren wrote a lengthy caption including the following message: “Thank you so much everyone for your loving condolences, messages of support, and for sharing your stories of furbaby love & loss.”
Lauren continued: “It brought me to tears but reminded me that we all eventually suffer grief with great love – and that’s okay. Love is well worth that price. So yes, I will continue to rescue & adopt and hopefully create a rescue in Fergie’s name sometime down the road. For today thank you for the outpouring of love.”
One of Lauren’s followers summed up the situation nicely by responding: “I’m so sorry for your loss. Animals love us unconditionally…a trait some humans fail at. You are amazing for adopting and giving dogs a chance to love and be loved.”
