Days of Our Lives (DOOL) spoilers recap for Monday, December 14, reveal that Claire Brady (Isabel Durant) called Belle Black (Martha Madison), asking her to come to the Brady Pub for dinner. Belle refused, as she was hard at work on John Black’s (Drake Hogestyn) legal case over at the Brady house.
However, Charlie Dale (Mike C. Manning) materialized outside the pub and offered to join Claire.
Claire and Charlie sat in the pub and talked about how Charlie was still caught between Philip Kiriakis (Jay Kenneth Johnson) and Xander Kiriakis (Paul Telfer) at work.
Soon, Charlie wondered if they were an official couple, and Claire asked if Charlie was asking her to be his girlfriend. Charlie asked how Claire felt, and after discussion they established that they’re an official couple.
Through conversation, Claire asked about Charlie’s family, and all he said was that he was raised by his father in Philadelphia and that he has a brother but isn’t really in touch with him.
Claire wondered if Charlie would stay in Salem for Christmas, and Charlie said that he would like to spend the holidays with Claire and her family.
At the Salem Inn, Xander told Sarah Horton (Linsey Godfrey) all about Ava Vitali (Tamara Braun) and how she was a sociopath that Kristen DiMera (Stacy Haiduk) had brought back to life by Wilhelm Rolf (William Utay).
Sarah and Xander wondered what the Ava/Philip connection was, and Xander theorized that it might have something to do with Steve Johnson (Stephen Nichols).
Sarah then told Xander about how Philip saw her leave the Salem Inn last night, and how he kissed her. Xander hit the roof, but Sarah cautioned Xander not to react, since that was just what Philip wanted.
Sarah and Xander vowed to continue working together to figure out what Philip and Ava are up to.
At Ava’s apartment, Philip arrived and immediately started arguing with Ava over his non-progress with Xander and the money laundering. Philip wondered if the fact that Ava was now known to be alive would impact their business relationship, and Ava said that it wouldn’t.
Philip mentioned the new intern who was going through his computer, but he said that he covered his tracks, so the intern found nothing.
Philip then told Ava that he was still working on getting Xander fired, and that after the last move he made, Xander was sure to do something that would make Victor Kiriakis (John Aniston) fire him. “I just want my money laundered,” Ava insisted.
Philip took off, and Ava texted someone, saying “Where are you?”
In town square, Allie Horton (Lindsay Arnold) encountered Tripp Dalton (Lucas Adams). “Don’t shoot,” Tripp said, putting his arms up, which didn’t amuse Allie. Allie mentioned that the DA wasn’t pressing charges against her for holding Tripp at gunpoint.
Tripp said that he just wanted to move on, and Allie said that she wouldn’t let him move on with his life. Tripp wondered what that meant. “You’ll find out,” Allie said.
Allie took off and went to the Brady house, where Belle was working. Allie approached Belle about suing Tripp in civil court. Belle said that they could sue for assault and battery as well as for infliction of emotional distress.
Belle thought that at the minimum, Allie could get child support, and at the maximum she could get a substantial judgment in Allie’s favor.
Belle did caution Allie about going down this road, since it would mean continually having to rehash the details about what happened to her. Allie said that she had to do everything in her power to make sure that Tripp pays.
“Then let’s do this,” Belle said, hugging Allie. Later, Claire arrived and learned about Allie’s lawsuit against Tripp.
At Steve and Kayla Brady’s (Mary Beth Evans) place, Joey Johnson (James Lastovic), Steve, and Kayla returned home and celebrated Joey’s newfound freedom. Kayla had groceries and prepared to make Joey’s favorite meal as the three of them happily talked about Joey being released from prison.
Soon, Tripp arrived to get his stuff and was happy to see Joey.
Joey quickly learned about the rape allegation against Tripp and how Kayla didn’t believe Tripp. Joey said that he believed Tripp and that he wanted Tripp to stay for dinner with them.
Kayla wasn’t thrilled, but she eventually agreed, while Steve gushed about his two boys being there for a family dinner. Tripp called Ava to tell her that he’d be a while, and Ava was disappointed.
Over at Ava’s place, Ava disconnected from Tripp, when there was a knock at the door. Ava opened the door, and it was Charlie. “I got your messages. You said we needed to talk, so here I am,” Charlie said.
