Days of Our Lives Spoilers: Monday, July 6 Recap - Xander Hires An Escort - Justin Overhears Painful Truth - Victor Schools Sarah

Days of Our Lives (DOOL) spoilers recap for Monday, July 6, reveal that Xander Kiriakis (Paul Telfer) walked into the living room of the Kiriakis mansion to find Victor Kiriakis (John Aniston) there. Xander said that he was moving out, and Victor told him not to go too far, since there’s a good chance that Brady Black (Eric Martsolf) will be stepping down as CEO of Titan Industries. “You’re my candidate to replace him, so don’t go away mad,” Victor said.

Just then, Sarah Horton (Linsey Godfrey) walked in and said, “Just go away!” to Xander. Xander looked miserable and told Victor that he was leaving because Sarah asked him to. Victor grumbled that this was his house, and Xander left in agony.

Victor then told Sarah that it was time that the two of them had a little talk. Victor proceeded to tell Sarah that Xander loved her, even though Xander has some personality problems.

Victor went on, telling Sarah that because of Xander’s love for her, he started caring about people other than himself. Sarah listened and seemed a bit moved by what Victor said.

Victor maintained that Xander would always be a bull in a china shop, but that he truly loved Sarah. “You knew what he was when you fell in love with him before,” Victor said. “Now you’re just looking for excuses to push him away.”

Sarah got flustered and told Victor to stay out of her life, but it was clear that she was affected by what Victor was saying. Victor then said that Maggie Kiriakis (Suzanne Rogers) always says that she’d rather be with an imperfect man that she loves than be miserable and alone. “Think about that,” Victor said.

In town square, Jack Deveraux (Matthew Ashford) and Jennifer Deveraux (Melissa Reeves) had breakfast and lamented about Gabi DiMera’s (Camila Banus) acquittal.

They had told Abigail DiMera (Kate Mansi) the disappointing news, and Jack said that it was for the best, since honesty was the best policy. Jen then fired back that Jack didn’t think so when it came to Steve Johnson (Stephen Nichols) and Kayla Brady (Mary Beth Evans).

Jennifer felt like a terrible friend to Kayla, since she knows the truth about how Steve feels but is keeping it from Kayla. Still, Jennifer agreed to keep her mouth shut an honor Steve’s wishes. Jennifer left, and Xander walked by with his luggage.

Xander and Jack talked a bit, with Xander filling Jack in on how he made things worse with Sarah lately. Jack felt sympathy for Xander, and finally Xander left. “Poor old Xander,” Jack said to himself.

Over at Hope Brady’s (Kristian Alfonso) house, Steve woke up on the couch to Hope presenting him with some coffee. Hope and Steve talked about how today’s the big “key to the city” day, as well as Kayla and Justin’s wedding day.

Through their conversation, Hope learned that Jennifer also knew about Steve’s true feelings for Kayla. Steve left to go get ready for the ceremony.

At the Brady Pub, Sonny Kiriakis (Freddie Smith) took Justin out for breakfast. Justin was feeling pre-wedding jitters because of Steve. Justin lamented that perhaps he is only marrying Kayla because Steve took himself out of the running.

Sonny did his best to reassure his dad, and by the end of the conversation, he had Justin feeling upbeat and positive about the day.

Justin and Sonny walked outside, and Steve materialized. Justin and Steve had a private word, and Steve told Justin that he wished him the best with Kayla. Steve even went the extra mile and said that Justin would be as good to Kayla as he was to Adrienne Kiriakis (Judi Evans). Steve and Justin shook hands.

Back in town square, Sonny found Jack. Sonny mentioned that he had just left Justin with Steve, and Jack wondered what that was all about. Later, Justin met up with Sonny and relayed that Steve had wished him well. Justin said he was going to go put flowers on Adrienne’s grave. Justin and Sonny hugged, and Justin took off.

At Kayla’s place, Will Horton (Chandler Massey) dropped by to say that Maggie was sick with a chest cold and that the Justice of the Peace had canceled and there was nobody to marry Kayla and Justin.

Abe Carver (James Reynolds) was busy with the key to the city ceremony, Marlena Evans (Deidre Hall) was busy, and Julie Williams (Susan Seaforth Hayes) had also come down with Maggie’s cold.

As Will and Kayla tried to come up with a solution, Hope and Jennifer dropped by and quickly learned about the problem. Jennifer thought they should postpone the wedding, and Hope agreed, but Kayla refused, saying that they need to find someone to perform the wedding.

Will suddenly got an idea, and he got online and got ordained as a wedding officiant, solving the problem. Hope and Jennifer looked deflated.

Hope, Jennifer, and Kayla shared mimosas together, and Kayla shared the story of how she and Justin came to be a couple. Soon, Hope had to leave to get to the key to the city ceremony, and Jen decided to run to the jeweler to pick up Kayla’s present for Justin.

Hope and Jennifer left together, and Kayla pulled out a picture of her first wedding to Steve and looked pensive.

At the Salem Inn, Xander unpacked in his room, looking unhappily at his wedding ring from his foiled wedding to Sarah. Xander then looked something up on his tablet, then called someone saying, “Yes, I’d like to inquire about your services.”

Soon, a woman in a red dress came to the hotel, promising to live up to her recommendation. The woman went inside with Xander as Xander started to undress, and Sarah lurked outside the door, having overheard the whole thing. Sarah left, upset.

Outside the Brady Pub, Steve sat playing the blues on his harmonica when Jack came along saying he heard about Steve’s private chat with Justin. Steve said that he wished Justin well, and Jack dryly noted that Steve had lied through his teeth. Jack noted that this was really Steve’s last chance to fight for Kayla.

Back at the Kiriakis mansion, Sonny came in to find Will talking with Victor. Will shared that he was officiating Justin and Kayla’s wedding. Victor piped up and said that Maggie wouldn’t be there because she was sick, and that he hoped nothing else went wrong, because this was an important day for Justin.

In the park, Hope and Jennifer talked. Hope said she was feeling guilty about Kayla’s situation, and she let Jennifer know that she knows about Steve still loving Kayla. Hope and Jennifer continued to lay out all the details about Steve still loving Kayla and Kayla not knowing all the facts. Justin lurked behind a pillar, overhearing the whole thing.
