Days of Our Lives (DOOL) spoilers reveal that Robert Scott Wilson (Ben Weston) misses a fellow DOOL star and would love to see him come back permanently. In an interview with Soap Opera Digest, Wilson opened up about the familiar face he’s longing to see. The popular Days actor was asked which former costar he misses most and why, so Wilson had to admit it was his TV dad!
Clyde Weston (James Read) is a fun rascal who always pops up for Days stints here and there. Read’s latest run as Clyde brought some great moments between this father and his son. Clyde was even able to come together with Ben before his execution.
It was nice to see Clyde make an effort to connect, and Ben’s understanding about the past was sweet as well. Although Clyde treated Ben horribly throughout most of his childhood, Ben chose not to hold a grudge in those goodbye scenes.
Thankfully, Ben survived due to Ciara Brady’s (Victoria Konefal) fierce determination to clear his name. Clyde’s still behind bars, so these brief stints are all we’ll get as long as he remains there.
As for Wilson, he’d love if Days could find some way for Clyde to have a more permanent stay in Salem. Read is the costar Wilson misses most, so he wishes DOOL could make it happen!
“I’m always rooting for James Read, if they could find any way to keep him around,” Wilson said. “He’s so good and such a decorated actor. When he transforms into Clyde, he fully embodies him.”
Clyde was free to stir up trouble in Salem once upon a time, which brought a lot of opportunities for drama. Should Days of Our Lives give Clyde a soapy get-out-of-jail-free card? If Orpheus (George DelHoyo) can get one, why not Clyde?
Kate Roberts (Lauren Koslow) actually had some chemistry with Clyde, so it might be interesting to revisit their twisted romance. Since Days of Our Lives can never find a successful love interest for Kate, it’d be worth giving Clyde and Kate another shot.
They seem to be giving Kate and Abe Carver (James Reynolds) a try, but many fans just aren’t feeling it!
Of course, Clyde could also cause some interesting issues for Ben and Ciara if he were free. Ben knows Clyde isn’t a great guy, but he’s still Ben’s father. There’s always going to be a certain sense of loyalty – unless Clyde were to take things too far and hurt Ciara in some way. Then, Clyde would need to watch his back! Having Clyde around more often could bring some juicy “Cin” stories.
