Days of Our Lives Spoilers: Tuesday, October 20 Recap - Ciara Warns Ben Off Killing Vincent - Blackout Hits Salem

Days of Our Lives (DOOL) spoilers recap for Tuesday, October 20, reveal that Gwen Rizczech (Emily O’Brien) was working on party plans at the DiMera mansion when Jake Lambert (Brandon Barash) walked in and needled her about what she was planning for the party.

Jake said that he had overheard Gwen talking about the party being one that no one would forget. Jake and Gwen bickered, but Gwen wouldn’t give up what she was planning.

Upstairs, Chad DiMera (Billy Flynn) and Abigail DiMera (Marci Miller) talked in their bedroom. Abigail wondered if Chad and Jake were getting along any better, and Chad said no, that he had tried to make nice with Jake but that things were even worse now.

Abigail gave Chad a hard time, and eventually Chad agreed to try to do better where Jake was concerned.

At the Salem Inn, Ben Weston (Robert Scott Wilson) gazed at a wedding photo of him and Ciara Weston (Victoria Konefal), and he picked up Vincent Bellman’s (Michael Teh) gun and promised to send Vincent to hell where he belongs.

Ben put the gun in his jacket and went to leave, but he found Marlena Evans (Deidre Hall) at the door. Ben said he’d rather be alone, but Marlena wanted to talk and invited Ben to come back to her penthouse for the night,

Ben refused, saying that he wanted to be by himself, but Marlena continued to worry. At one point, Ben hinted about Vincent getting what he deserved, and Marlena queried about that, but Ben covered.

Before Marlena left, she asked Ben if by chance he had called her earlier that evening and hung up. Ben said no, and Marlena took off.

At Statesville, Clyde Weston (James Read) talked with Orpheus (George DelHoyo), who had been recently transferred back to Salem. After some bickering, Orpheus told Clyde that he had big plans for tonight – an exit strategy that might include Clyde.

Clyde wanted to know what the catch was, and Orpheus said that he needed Clyde to do one small thing for him.

Orpheus told Clyde what he wanted off-screen, and the men shook on it. Orpheus said that a big distraction was about to go down, and just then, the lights went off at the prison.

Back at the Salem Inn, Ben was alone when the power went out. Suddenly, Ben heard Ciara’s voice, and he turned around to see Ciara. Ben quickly realized that Ciara was just a vision, and Ciara told him that he couldn’t kill Vincent because he wasn’t that person anymore.

Ciara urged Ben to stay being the man she fell in love with.

Ben protested, but Ciara continued to urge him not to kill Vincent, saying that her life would mean nothing if he did. Ben asked to hold Ciara, but suddenly Ciara was gone. Ben went to leave the room, and when he opened the door, Clyde was there. “Hello, son,” Clyde said.

Back at the DiMera mansion, Chad and Abigail sat in the dark as Chad hung up the phone and told Abigail that all of Salem lost power.

Abigail mentioned the party that she was planning to celebrate Jennifer Deveraux’s (Cady McClain) emergence from her coma, and Chad suggested that perhaps it was too much work. Abigail explained that Gwen was doing all the legwork.

In the living room, Jake and Gwen continued talking amidst some candles that Gwen lit. Gwen thought that the mansion was even creepier than normal, and suddenly she and Jake heard something go bump.

Jake mentioned the tunnels, and eventually both Jake and Gwen left the room. Afterwards, Wilhelm Rolf (William Utay) emerged from the secret tunnel doorway.

At Marlena and John Black’s (Drake Hogestyn) penthouse, things were dark as well. Marlena lamented about how lost Ben seemed earlier, and she admitted to having maternal feelings for Ben.

John suggested that Marlena go and check in on Ben again. John headed off to bed, and later when Marlena was navigating her way to the door in the dark, she heard a voice say, “Going somewhere?” It was Orpheus.

Finally, in town square, Jack Deveraux (Matthew Ashford) and Jennifer talked briefly. Jennifer told Jack that the she just found out that the source of the power surge was Statesville. “Could be another prison break,” Jack said warily. “God only knows who’s out there now.”
