Days of Our Lives Spoilers: Wednesday, October 14 Recap - Philip Plans To Kill Xander - Hope Mourns Ciara - Ben Steals Vincent’s Gun

Days of Our Lives (DOOL) spoilers recap for Wednesday, October 14, reveal that Philip Kiriakis (Jay Kenneth Johnson) talked with a mystery person on the phone, saying that Xander Kiriakis (Paul Telfer) was standing in the way of their plans. “I don’t know what else to do except maybe kill him,” Philip said, just as Belle Black (Martha Madison) walked in.

Belle blasted Philip for talking about killing someone when he was facing charges from Jan Spears (Heather Lindell).

Philip tried to blame Shawn Brady (Brandon Beemer) for all his problems, but Belle insisted that Shawn wasn’t the problem, and that Philip caused his own problems by threatening Jan.

Philip then tried to blame Xander, but Belle got exasperated and threatened to quit being Philip’s lawyer. Philip said that Jan was dangerously close to Claire Brady (Isabel Durant), and then Belle softened and agreed to continue to represent him.

After Belle left, Philip called the mystery person again and complained about Xander being back on board at Titan. “How am I supposed to launder money through Titian with Xander looking over my shoulder?” Philip said. “I have to get rid of him.”

At the Salem PD, Kristen DiMera (Stacy Haiduk) insisted that she stabbed Victor Kiriakis (John Aniston), while Brady Black (Eric Martsolf) and Lani Price-Grant (Sal Stowers) stood there trying to shut her up.

Melinda Trask (Tina Huang) announced that she needed to inform the judge right away, and she rushed out of the room. Kristen then explained that she had confessed for Lani’s sake.

Lani protested, then she left Brady and Kristen to talk. Brady said that he didn’t buy that Kristen just changed her plea willy nilly. Off-screen, Kristen told Brady the story of how Eli Grant (Lamon Archey) taped her confession and threatened to take it to Melinda if she didn’t confess.

Brady was angry with Eli, but Kristen insisted that her mind was made up, and the she was doing the right thing. Belle then entered and demanded to know why Kristen changed her plea.

In the park, Abe Carver (James Reynolds) found Eli on a bench and asked what was wrong. Eli proceeded to tell Abe the whole story about how he secretly taped Kristen’s confession and then got Kristen to confess – all to save Lani from prosecution.

Abe was stunned to hear the details, but he supported Eli and the men hugged. Lani then came along and wondered what was going on. Abe and Eli covered, and Lani announced that Kristen had just changed her plea.

At Hope Brady’s (Kristian Alfonso) house, she and Shawn read the forensic report. Hope was horrified to read that a casing consistent with Vincent Bellman’s (Michael Teh) gun was found in the car wreckage.

Hope realized that Ciara Weston (Victoria Konefal) hadn’t screamed for help because she was already dead. Hope was beside herself, and she decided she needed to call Ben Weston (Robert Scott Wilson).

Over at the Salem Inn, Ben was brooding when Claire showed up to talk about the memorial for Ciara. Ben didn’t want a memorial, since he didn’t believe that Ciara was dead. Soon, Hope called, but she hung up and couldn’t bring herself to tell Ben the devastating news.

Back at Hope’s house, Hope said that she couldn’t tell Ben over the phone, and that she needed to go see him in person. Shawn offered to go tell Ben the horrible news, and Hope stayed at the house, looking at photos of Ciara and crying.

Back at the Salem Inn, Shawn showed up and told Ben and Claire the news about the shell casing being found in the car wreckage. Claire immediately started crying, and Ben looked ill, but he still didn’t believe that Ciara was dead.

Claire offered to cancel the memorial, but Ben thought that people needed to mourn. “You need that, too,” Claire said.

Claire and Shawn left, and Ben paced the floor, holding Ciara’s wedding and engagement rings in his hands. Ben then left, and later he returned and took out Vincent’s gun from his backpack, still in its evidence bag. Ben removed the gun from the bag and held it in his hand ominously.
