Days of Our Lives (DOOL) spoilers tease that Jake Lambert (Brandon Barash) is in hot water right about now. As DOOL viewers know, Jake has mob guys after him, and now they’ve kidnapped Gabi DiMera (Camila Banus) because they think that Gabi is Jake’s wife. Gabi is set to be killed if Jake doesn’t cough up the mysterious object that he stole from the mob before he left the organization. But what’s this “thing” that Jake stole?
Well, as recent DOOL spoiler pictures have revealed, the object that Jake stole was a book of some sort. From the pictures, it looks like the book is gilded and pretty fancy, so it likely contains some big secrets.
And there’s going to be plenty of interest in what’s contained inside the book, as a huge brawl is going to ensue over the thing.
Somehow, Jake, Ciara Brady (Victoria Konefal), Ben Weston (Robert Scott Wilson), and Xander Kiriakis (Paul Telfer) will get into a major physical fight over the book, with them all clamoring to get hold of the thing, ostensibly to see what’s inside.
It’s going to be a major scene, but what could be in the book that’s so important that the mob is willing to kill Gabi over it?
Well, one possibility is that the book contains some sort of mob secrets, like ledgers for bets or other records of the financial dealings of organized crime activities. That would certainly be enough for the mob to want to kill to get it back, and it would have been a valuable thing for Jake to have taken.
But why would Jake have taken it in the first place if he wanted to be done with the mob and walk away?
Of course, it’s always possible that the book contains other important secrets, and we can’t help but remember another book in recent DOOL history that was the subject of much attention and urgency – Dr. Wilhelm Rolf’s (William Utay) diary.
Now, that diary was ultimately burned by Eve Donovan (Kassie DePaiva) when she wanted revenge on Jack Deveraux (Matthew Ashford). At the time, Jack wanted the diary so he could try to get his memory back.
Well, what if this book that Jake stole is another of Rolf’s diaries, with the details of his recent work and formulas? It’s possible that Jake might not even know what’s in the book, and that he stole it knowing it was valuable and not knowing why.
It would be fitting (and ironic) if the book ended up containing the formula for Rolf’s memory-revealing serum that could ultimately turn Jake back into Stefan DiMera (Brandon Barash).
A couple interesting things make us think that it’s likely that the book could be Rolf-related. First off, Xander is suddenly going to be involved in the big book brawl, and he was certainly a part of the Rolf diary saga that played out previously on Days of Our Lives.
It would be fitting for Xander to get involved, and it the book isn’t Rolf-related, then it would seem pretty random for Xander to be a part of the upcoming book brawl.
Second, Xander and Jack recently had a lengthy conversation in which Xander’s history in keeping Jack hostage in the DiMera warehouse was clearly referenced. Xander also conspired to keep Rolf’s diary a secret from Jack alongside Eve.
It seems pretty coincidental that these things have come up on the show…right before the big book brawl involving Xander is set to take place.
We’ll see what happens here, but we wouldn’t be surprised to see this mystery book be connected to other storylines and to Jake himself in the end. Do you think that the book that Jake stole could be another one of Rolf’s secret diaries?
