Cookie told Lucious everything. She told him how she thought she was protecting her sister. She told him she went over to the house and confronted Carol’s boyfriend Durrell. Cookie had thought she could simply threaten him with the gun and that it would solve it. Durrell would leave Carol alone. But Durrell thought he could turn it around. He tried to threaten Cookie and she had been forced to shoot him. He probably would have killed her if she hadn’t. Cookie then hid what she did and she never told anyone. She didn’t tell Lucious because they were just starting the music thing. She didn’t want to distract him from that and so she buried what she did.

Cookie thought her sister would be better off. She didn’t know that Carol would mourn Durrell like he was the love of her life or something. It’s like Carol completely forgot he abused her. She chose to only remember good things and she got mixed up with drugs afterward because she chose to mourn him rather than count her blessings. Cookie has never forgiven herself for what happened to Carol. She thought if she had just left things alone that maybe Carol could have seen Durrell for what he was and make the decision for herself. The fact she didn’t could be why Carol has never moved past it.

Cookie thinks about that often. She feels now that maybe she should tell Carol and Lucious, not to her she was wrong. Lucious told her that therapy has been messing with her head. He thinks Cookie should keep her secret and never tell another soul what she did. Cookie wasn’t sure if she should. She was going back and forth on it and eventually, real life intervened. Cookie still had her artists she was working with. Lucious had the same and if anything he was the one that was quick to forget what Cookie said. He got wrapped up in Yanna. He wanted to wait and launch her at the right time. So, Lucious didn’t want to put her out there just yet.

He ran into conflict with Becky because of his plan. Becky had talked to Giselle and besides finding out that she was Julian’s biological mother and not his sister – Becky has also been making moves. She found out that Treasure couldn’t do the Music Weekly Show. Treasure injured her throat after she was overworked by Andre/Kingsley and so Treasure was not told to take some time off. Her loss could be Yana’s gain. Becky wanted to put Yanna in Treasure’s place and she was put with some resistance from Lucious. He told Becky she wasn’t ready. He tried to get Becky to let it go and Becky put him in his place.

She doesn’t work for him anymore. He works for her now and if Becky wanted to put Yanna in the showcase then that’s what she’s going to do. Becky upset Lucious so much that he went to Cookie for help. Lucious asked Cookie to get Becky to back off and Cookie wasn’t listening to him. She had something planned with her sister Carol. Carol was actually outside the door when Lucious threw Durrell in her face and so Cookie threatened to kill him like she killed Durrell. Her sister heard everything. Cookie had opened the door to throw Lucious out and that’s when she saw her. And right before he left, Lucious reminded Cookie that she wanted to tell her sister Carol what happened.

Lucious was a jerk. He made sure he said the parting words that could hurt Cookie and he later went back to Yanna. Yanna needed to get ready for her first showcase. Lucious pushed her past the point she was comfortable and she stormed offstage because she felt like Lucious didn’t care about her. He did say he invested a lot of time and money into her. Yanna was wondering if that’s all she was and so she took a moment to herself. She left Lucious behind and that’s when he ran into Melody. Melody told him he was losing his touch. He used to know how to work with artists and so Melody was throwing that in his face when a third person entered their conversation. A famous DJ had wanted to talk to Melody alone.

The two of them went off together. Melody later learned that some blog has found out the two of them had an affair years ago and so the DJ wanted Melody to deny the rumors. Only Melody doesn’t lie anymore. She said she was living her truth and that she wasn’t going to deny the rumors. She just wasn’t going to confirm them either. She said she doesn’t want people in her business and so she was going tell the blog “no comment”. The DJ wasn’t happy. He told the blogs that he would never sleep with a trannie and he referred to Melody as it. Melody took issue with what he said. She threatened to tell her side and so the two of them got into a fight out in the alley.

Melody got the upper hand. She found a piece of board and she used to beat up the DJ. Lucious came across in their brawl. He told Melody to hide because cops in the area and he later created a story with the DJ. Lucious flipped the narrative. He told the cops that the DJ stepped in to help someone and that the thugs ran off. Melody hadn’t been too happy about it. She thought the DJ was going to be trouble and Lucious promised her he wouldn’t be. He said the guy wouldn’t want the real story getting out. And so Lucious protected Melody and he reminded her that she was a star now.

Lucious was also right about Yanna. She wasn’t ready and her showcase had been a disaster. She bombed out onstage. She was booed off and so she apologized to Lucious after. He knows what he’s talking about. He also wasn’t going to confuse business with pleasure. He had the chance to kiss Yanna and he didn’t take it. She had wanted it to happen. She had been so disappointed that he didn’t lean in to kiss that she had cried about it and that meant the kiss would have been something else for her. She wouldn’t have seen it as a one-off. Lucious made the right decision then, but what he did with Cookie had long-lasting results.

Carol got high again. She interrupted a showcase that Cookie had put together and so Cookie pulled her backstage where Carol decided to come clean. Carol said Cookie ruined her life and that she and Candace had ruined Cookie’s life. She said it had something to do with seventeen years and so that’s the moment Candace tried to shut her up. But Cookie had heard it. She wanted to know what Carol meant by it and she wasn’t going to let it go until she found out the truth.

Andre meanwhile had used Maya to cover up what he did with Quincy and the girl that OD. Cops were sniffing around and he didn’t want to it to lead back to Quincy or him. Andre got Maya to lie. She then demanded that he sign her as a new artist and that had been enough to upset Porsha. Porsha was just promoted to head of recruitment. She didn’t want people to think her first hire was a friend and so Porsha quit rather than be a party to what Andre was doing. And there was nothing Andre could say to get Porsha to come back.

Andre was also in trouble himself because Teri found out what happened with the girl and she tried to take the baby with her, but Andre stopped her.

THE END!
