General Hospital (GH) spoilers tease that Brando Corbin (Johnny Wactor) is playing a dangerous game. As GH viewers will remember, Brando created a big scene at the Metro Court with Sonny Corinthos (Maurice Benard) while Cyrus Renault (Jeff Kober) was watching.
The whole thing was a ploy on Brando’s part to get Cyrus to think that he’d be willing to betray Sonny and go work for Cyrus’ organization. Cyrus was certainly interested in the fake scene, and it’s probably only a matter of time before he approaches Brando again about working for his organization.
Well, Sonny and Jason Morgan (Steve Burton) have been iffy about the possibility of Brando going to work for Cyrus and becoming a double agent. Sonny and Jason know that it’s a dangerous plan, but Brando seems to really want to do it and help Sonny out.
And actually, it’s probably a pretty good plan, providing that Brando’s super careful.
But there seems to be an unforeseen glitch in the plan, and it comes in the form of Gladys Corbin (Bonnie Burroughs). As GH viewers know, Gladys came back onto the Port Charles scene for Mike’s funeral reception, and she was an unwanted and uninvited guest.
Right now, Gladys is seen as a pesky nuisance, but might she become a serious impediment to Brando’s plan to infiltrate Cyrus’ organization?
GH viewers will remember that Cyrus made a point of introducing himself to Gladys, and since Cyrus doesn’t do anything without a good (and devious) reason, he probably has plans for not only Brando, but for Gladys, too.
Cyrus might be thinking that he can possibly get some intel from Gladys about Sonny’s business or even his personal life that Cyrus might use to his advantage. But Gladys could be even more dangerous than that to Sonny…if she somehow interferes with Brando’s plan to infiltrate Cyrus’ kingdom.
We can imagine a situation in which Cyrus befriends Gladys, and Gladys is hanging around after Brando goes to work for Cyrus. Of course, Brando surely wouldn’t let Gladys know that he’s actually an agent of Sonny’s, and that could really complicate things.
Brando would then be in the position of having to keep his true agenda hidden not only from Cyrus, but from Gladys, too.
Gladys just can’t be trusted with sensitive information, so Brando would have to do a delicate dance to keep his mother at bay, especially if she becomes friendly with Cyrus. And what if Cyrus and Gladys do become better acquainted?
Gladys could even figure out that Brando is really working for Sonny and that could not only compromise the mission, but also put a lot of people in deadly danger.
We’ll see what happens here, but Gladys seems like she’s going to be a real problem for Brando going forward as he tries to be a part of Cyrus’ world for Sonny. Do you expect to See Gladys cause trouble for Brando’s mission?
