General Hospital (GH) spoilers reveal that Briana Lane has wrapped her run as a temporary Brook Lynn Quartermaine recast. Lane’s final episode aired on Monday, November 16, so the departing GH star recently spoke out about her time on the ABC soap.
Let’s look at the kind words Lane had for fans and everyone who made her feel welcome on GH.
“Playing the role of Brook Lynn Quartermaine on @GeneralHospital has been an absolute joy + honor,” Lane said on Twitter. “Feel lucky to have been surrounded by such a gifted cast, kind crew + passionate producers these past 4 months + it’s an experience that I will always hold close to my heart (cont).”
Lane sent out another tweet to wrap up her exit announcement. “And HUGE thank you to all the fans who have been so welcoming to the new kid!” Lane insisted. “Your support has meant the world.”
Lane also mentioned Amanda Setton, who’ll be reclaiming the role of Brook Lynn Quartermaine once BLQ returns to Port Charles. “Passing the baton back to beautiful + mega talented Amanda Setton…Looking forward to watching what will definitely be a new and exciting chapter for BLQ! #GH”
In one more tweet, Lane talked about her last day on set and shared a great pic to go with it. “Last day on #GH…Effortlessly talented captain of the ship @valentinifrank, goddess @lisalocicerogh, guiding light @wallykurth … still had tears in my eyes from Wally + I’s last scene as father + daughter. TY to everyone for all the sweet responses, goodbyes + wishes tonight!!”
Many General Hospital viewers feel like the casting department really outdid themselves on this temp recast. Lane made the role her own and was a fantastic fit as Brook Lynn. Setton is incredibly talented as well, but it’s still tough to say goodbye to Lane’s version!
However, you never know what might happen in the future. If GH ever needs another temporary Brook Lynn recast or if Setton decides to depart at some point, they know who to call.
Some fans are even hopeful that GH might create a new character for Lane somewhere down the line. It might be worth considering once some time has passed and Setton’s back as Brook Lynn.
Regardless, Lane is done at General Hospital for now, so we wish her the best on her upcoming projects. She did an excellent job filling in for Setton and will be missed!
Setton exited the show due to her real-life pregnancy, so there’s no word on when she’ll actually make her comeback on GH. We’ll be sure to bring you updates once that news becomes available.
