General Hospital (GH) spoilers tease that Carly Corinthos (Laura Wright) probably would’ve been in the clear if she’d just told the truth. GH viewers know that Carly fought with Nelle Benson Jerome (Chloe Lanier), who then took off and wound up dangling from a cliff edge.
Carly hesitated for a moment since she thought Nelle was trying to trick her, but Nelle’s persistent cries for help left Carly scrambling to pull Nelle up.
All Carly had to do was tell that story to the PCPD and she likely would’ve been believed.
It’s obvious Nelle was out of control since she arranged for Monica Quartermaine (Leslie Charleson) to be chloroformed, slashed Brook Lynn Quartermaine’s (Briana Lane) throat, kidnapped Wiley Quartermaine-Corinthos (Erik and Theo Olson), assaulted Michael Corinthos (Chad Duell) and more.
Under the circumstances, it seems like the cops would’ve bought Carly’s true account of what happened. However, Carly let Jasper “Jax” Jacks (Ingo Rademacher) talk her into covering up the real story – and that decision will come back to bite her.
The only question is: how hard? Will Carly end up going on trial for Nelle’s murder down the road?
You can bet Nina Reeves (Cynthia Watros) will push for legal consequences once she realizes Nelle was her bio daughter and learns about the cliff cover-up. The police may be inclined to agree with Nina.
Guilty people tend to cover things up! It’s going to look like Carly shoved Nelle off the cliff and led to her gruesome fate intentionally.
Diane Miller (Carolyn Henessy) will have her work cut out for her once all this blows up. Jax may face legal ramifications as well, but Carly should face most of the backlash. Will Carly be arrested and charged with Nelle’s murder?
That seems like the soapiest route General Hospital could take, so Carly may go on trial and worry she’ll wind up in prison for life. Even in death, Nelle will be making Carly miserable!
Of course, there could be light at the end of the tunnel since Nelle probably isn’t dead. Could Nelle surface or get caught just before Carly’s sentencing? Perhaps all hope will seem lost for Carly, who may accept that she’s going to be thrown in a cell at Pentonville and separated from her family.
Just when it looks like Carly’s done for, Nelle may get busted or even appear on her own terms. There’s always a trick or two up Nelle’s sleeve! Whatever the case, Carly’s trial seems likely – and that means another Corinthos legal crisis is on the way.
