General Hospital (GH) spoilers reveal that Brook Lynn Quartermaine (Briana Lane – Amanda Setton) made the decision to leave town, but she raised some interesting story possibilities before she left.
Brook Lynn talked to Ned Quartermaine (Wally Kurth) about needing to find clarity before she met up with Valentin Cassadine (James Patrick Stuart). After that chat, Brook Lynn looked at a pregnancy test she pulled out of her purse.
Obviously, GH viewers are supposed to believe Brook Lynn could very well be pregnant with Valentin’s baby – a consequence of the steamy night and morning they shared not too long ago. This is a great twist that presents some exciting options once Amanda Setton makes a comeback as Brook Lynn.
Whether Brook Lynn is still pregnant when she returns or perhaps has a baby by then, there’ll be some fantastic places to go with this story. Of course, General Hospital writers surely won’t make it as simple as Brook Lynn coming home and telling Valentin the truth.
It seems far more likely Brook Lynn will try to hide her baby’s paternity.
Back when Brook Lynn and Valentin enjoyed some pillow talk, she was surprised by the fact that Valentin didn’t do more to steal custody away from Lulu Spencer (Emme Rylan). Brook Lynn acknowledged all Valentin’s resources and thought it was strange that he’d just accept the situation.
Valentin noted that although he initially fought Lulu on the Charlotte Cassadine (Scarlett Fernandez) custody issue, he eventually tried to put Charlotte first. However, the fact remains that Valentin is a powerful man.
Even recently, Valentin’s been trying to finagle legal rights for Nina and make this all about what HE wants for Charlotte. Brook Lynn may find herself worried that Valentin could try to keep this new child from her.
That’s especially true if things go south at ELQ and a war with the Quartermaines erupts. Valentin is a wildcard who can’t be trusted anyway. It’s one thing to hook up with someone and have a little fun. It’s quite another to have a baby with him – a kid that could permanently tie Brook Lynn to Valentin if she divulges the truth.
There’s also the matter of Lulu’s coma and Valentin’s desire to push Nina Reeves (Cynthia Watros) as a fill-in mom for Charlotte. It certainly makes sense for Nina to step up for Charlotte during this difficult time, but it could be concerning from Brook Lynn’s perspective.
What’s to stop Valentin from trying to take BLQ’s baby and making Nina the main mother figure in that child’s life, too? Valentin could easily view this as a replacement kid – a do-over for Nina, who’ll eventually find out that her own biological daughter, Nelle Benson Jerome (Chloe Lanier), is dead.
Letting Valentin in on the truth just sounds awfully risky. Could Brook Lynn find herself a fake “baby daddy” who’s a better option? Harrison Chase (Josh Swickard) may not learn his lesson despite the backlash of this scheme with Sasha Gilmore (Sofia Mattsson).
Although Chase didn’t sleep with Brook Lynn as far as GH fans know, Valentin has no way of confirming what happened behind closed doors. It’d be easy for Chase to claim he was the father of this child to keep Valentin at a distance. Chase might be willing to do that for the sake of Brook Lynn and her baby.
Almost all soapy secrets tend to be revealed sooner or later, but Brook Lynn and Chase might keep this one as long as they possibly could! We’ll fill you in as other GH news and updates emerge.
