General Hospital (GH) spoilers reveal that Cyrus Renault (Jeff Kober) was having a blast during his recent conversation with Carly Corinthos (Laura Wright) and Laura Collins (Genie Francis). It’s clear that Cyrus thoroughly enjoys getting a reaction out of his enemies. Cyrus offered plenty of veiled threats and creepy comments, which left Laura especially unsettled.
Based on Cyrus’ interactions with Laura, she certainly has a good reason to be afraid! Laura’s done her best to give Cyrus an attitude and make it seem like she’s all tough. However, Cyrus is one bad dude and may be developing a bit of an obsession with Laura.
It’s easy to imagine Cyrus wanting too much from the mayor. Cyrus doesn’t seem like a very romantic guy – and Laura wouldn’t be on board anyway. Of course, that makes all of this even more concerning. If Cyrus just takes what he wants, that could lead this storyline down a terrible path.
It’s doubtful GH would take it too far, but Laura’s obviously nervous about Cyrus and what he has in mind. That brings us to another interesting point. What’s up with Cyrus’ housewarming party? For starters, it’s strange that a guy like Cyrus would even be throwing one. There has to be some sort of ulterior motive here.
Cyrus asked for Carly’s address so he could send an invitation, but she informed him he should just send it to the coffee warehouse. Carly noted that Cyrus already knew it and flashed back to the shootout she nearly died in.
Cyrus played dumb, but Carly contended that it was simple to find out a business address – like the address of a pub in Brooklyn.
Carly suggested she’d be busy along with Sonny Corinthos (Maurice Benard), but Cyrus insisted on sending his invite. He also hoped Laura’s schedule would permit and added that he already knew where she lived. Laura was so rattled that she lost her appetite, so General Hospital writers seem to be building to something major.
Cyrus wants this housewarming party to serve as a memorable entrance into the PC social scene – at least that’s what he claimed. All of this is pretty strange. What villain wants to throw a housewarming party? Why is Cyrus so adamant about these invitations going out?
It’s tough to believe anyone would come unless they were threatened into it, which could be where the invites come in. Cyrus could suggest that it’d be a pity if no one showed up – just like it’d be a shame if Laura’s kids or grandkids didn’t show up to her next gathering. Perhaps Cyrus could actually get enough guests for a housewarming with grim messages like that.
Regardless, this housewarming party is too weird to be insignificant. It sounds like it’ll actually happen, and there’s a good chance something horrible will happen at it. Could Sonny try to take Cyrus down at his own get-together? Will Cyrus pull something that spells trouble for Laura and his other targets?
If Cyrus wants to make this night a memorable one, he surely has something up his sleeve! Laura and anyone else who’s forced to attend could be in grave danger. This mob war is far from over, so stay tuned.
