General Hospital (GH) spoilers tease that Julian Jerome (William deVry) is likely going to be very angry over what’s just gone down at the Floating Rib. As GH viewers know, Julian was coerced by Cyrus Renault (Jeff Kober) to take an explosive device into the Floating Rib when it was full of patrons.
The deal according to Cyrus was that the explosion wouldn’t occur until much later, when Cyrus’ people lured Jason Morgan (Steve Burton) back into the bar after hours.
It was a calculated and manipulative move on Cyrus’ part, as he knew that Julian would probably bail on the mission if he thought that the bomb was going to go off while the bar was full of people.
Cyrus gave Julian a burner phone that would reach his own phone, and the deal was that Julian was supposed to call Cyrus to let him know the bomb was in place, but in reality, that burner phone detonated the bomb when Julian pressed the call button.
Well, we suspect that Julian is going to be horrified and very angry when he realizes that Cyrus duped him and got him to detonate the bomb.
And Julian’s probably going to get even madder when he realizes that his grandson Danny Morgan (Porter Fasullo) was in the bar when he inadvertently detonated the bomb. One can only imagine that Julian is going to want some serious revenge on Cyrus.
And since it’s clear at this point that William deVry is leaving GH, one wonders whether Julian will do something that sets Cyrus off and results in Julian’s murder at Cyrus’ hand.
Julian could decide that he’s got nothing left to lose at this point, and he may be angry enough to try to take Cyrus out himself – something that could very well get him killed.
Of course, once Julian realizes that Cyrus set him up to be the one who detonated the bomb, he’ll probably realize that Cyrus is going to want to tie up loose ends.
Perhaps Cyrus’ plan was to implicate Julian in the bombing all along, then kill him and make it look like a suicide.
That would kill two birds with one stone for Cyrus pretty well – it would simultaneously get rid of Jason and Julian, and it would give the police somewhere to place blame for the explosion.
Julian will probably figure that Cyrus is going to come after him, so he might try to get information to Sonny about Cyrus’ involvement in the shooting and his motive.
Might Julian leave a “in case I die” letter for Sonny, similar to the one that Nelle Benson Jerome (Chloe Lanier) left? It would be Julian’s final way of undermining Cyrus before he tries to take out the drug lord.
It will be interesting to see how it all goes down, but we suspect that Julian could make a last-ditch effort to take out Cyrus before Cyrus takes him out. But will Julian leave intel behind for Sonny as a final way to stick it to Cyrus?
