General Hospital (GH) spoilers reveal that Nina Reeves (Cynthia Watros) ultimately decided to seek answers to her burning questions. Nina has great maternal instincts and a deep need to be a mother. If her daughter’s out there somewhere, Nina wants to know her.
However, Nina was adamant about not letting Jasper “Jax” Jacks (Ingo Rademacher) carry out the search for her. GH fans will recall that Nina insisted she’d find her daughter herself, but that sounds like a pretty daunting task. It’s doubtful Nina can pull this off completely on her own.
After all, Nina doesn’t do everything on her own at Crimson. That’s what Nina has an assistant for. If Nina comes through for Nelle Benson (Chloe Lanier) at the custody hearing, it’s easy to imagine Nell expressing her gratitude and offering to repay the favor.
Nelle might get updates on Nina’s bio daughter search and suggest that she’s willing to pitch in.
Although Nina wants to find her daughter herself, using her own assistant isn’t against the rules – not that there are any rules anyway. Nina could give Nelle some numbers to call and tasks to accomplish. With Nelle’s help, Nina might hope to narrow down her own search and figure out where her daughter might be.
In other words, Nelle might end up looking for Nina’s daughter all while not knowing she’s the very person she’s looking for! Likewise, Nina would never in a million years guess that Nelle is her biological child.
If Nina gives Nelle specific instructions on things related to this search, that necklace may not be mentioned initially. Jax pointed out that maybe it could be traced, but Nina intends to do things her way – and that means she might decide the necklace angle is a bust.
Nina may think it’d be better to tackle this a different way, which could delay the inevitable moment when the half-heart pendant becomes a factor. At the end of this long and winding journey to nowhere, Nina might sigh and finally pull that necklace out.
Perhaps Nina could tell Nelle she’s throwing in the towel and suggest she’ll never know who has the other half of that necklace.
That’s when a stunned Nelle could admit it’s her; SHE has the necklace! Of course, General Hospital writers could take the big reveal in a totally different direction, but that’s one fun option to ponder. No matter how this plays out, there’s an opportunity for Nelle to connect the dots and realize she’s looking for herself.
Regardless, any fans holding out hope that Nelle isn’t truly Nina’s daughter can let those hopes go for now. In a recent interview with Soap Opera Digest, GH Co-Head Writer Dan O’Connor confirmed that “…Nelle is the daughter that was stolen from her all those years ago.” So that’s that!
General Hospital could always change things down the road, but it’s clear that they’re going to fully explore this “Nelle is Nina’s daughter” route. As it stands right now, Nelle is indeed Nina’s biological child.
