General Hospital (GH) spoilers tease that a big reveal has made plenty of waves in the soap world. CDL had been predicting that Nelle Benson Archer (Chloe Lanier) would be Nina Reeves’ (Cynthia Watros) biological daughter, but some fans were holding out hope for a different outcome – mainly fans who don’t like Nelle!
However, the April 9 episode confirmed what was expected: Nelle is Nina’s biological daughter. In incredibly soapy fashion, GH fans saw Nina holding the necklace as Nelle pulled items from her keepsake box.
General Hospital showed us a clear shot of the other half-heart pendant, which was also spotted on tiny Janelle’s neck in the flashbacks.
The split-screen of Nelle and Nina made this a big reveal at its finest! General Hospital did it up right with dramatic music and camera work, but some viewers out there are still in denial. On social media, you’ll find some fans insisting that the necklaces aren’t the same color or trying to twist this any other way.
Come on now! It’s time to accept that Nelle IS Nina’s bio daughter; the show made that crystal clear. Of course, that doesn’t mean you have to approve of GH’s decision. Many General Hospital watchers were hoping Willow Tait (Katelyn MacMullen) would be Nina’s long-lost child, but the truth is Nelle makes more sense.
Nina needs a complex daughter to “fix,” not one as pleasant as Sasha Gilmore (Sofia Mattsson) – the fake daughter Nina had before. Making Willow Nina’s daughter would’ve meant telling the same story they told with Nina and Sasha. Nina would bond with a lovely gal and that would be that.
GH writers had to something else when it came to the real deal. By making Nelle the bio kid, Nina’s gaining a MESS. Things are going to be complicated since Nelle’s got such a dark side, but part of Nina will inevitably still love her. This can fuel so many stories whereas the Willow route would go nowhere.
General Hospital just concluded a two-episode event that was mainly about Nelle. Although GH promoted the specials as being more about Carly Corinthos (Laura Wright), the Nelle flashbacks took center stage. We were reminded of all the damage Nelle’s done and given sympathetic reasons for why she’s like this.
Nelle insisted everything would’ve been different if Carly had stepped up to take care of her. That wasn’t Carly’s job, but the point is Nelle feels like she was abandoned.
Nelle’s always felt so alone in this world. They’re setting it up so Nina will battle guilt for not being there to guide Nelle and save her from this path of destruction.
Bottom line, when GH does all this buildup and finally drops a bomb, you should believe them. Nelle is indeed Nina’s biological daughter, so it’s best to focus all the possibilities this could bring. General Hospital spoilers say Nelle and Nina are both in for a shock eventually, so stay tuned.
