General Hospital (GH) spoilers tease that Sam McCall (Kelly Monaco) and Jason Morgan (Steve Burton) may be headed for Splitsville. GH has been dropping plenty of hints that point in the direction of a breakup – and General Hospital spoilers are leaning that way, too.
If the show does decide to split up Jason and Sam, it seems likely a romance will develop between Jason and Britt Westbourne (Kelly Thiebaud). GH writers have already been laying the groundwork for a potential Britt and Jason pairing, so that takes care of things on his end.
What about Sam? If Sam ends up leaving Jason, who will be her new man? Let’s look at four love interest options in case this “JaSam” breakup becomes a harsh reality.
1) Back-from-the-dead Drew Cain
Drew Cain (Billy Miller) was presumed dead following a plane crash, but that’d be an easy demise to undo. Without a body, no one can ever be certain of anything. It’d be easy for Drew to come waltzing back into town – either with Billy Miller back in the part or perhaps a recast this time around.
It’d make a lot of sense for Sam and Drew to reunite down the road. After all, Drew was the safer twin who gravitated toward Aurora Media instead of the dangerous mob life. Maybe Sam could decide Drew is who she’s meant to be with at this point in her life.
2) Brando Corbin
Brando Corbin (Johnny Wactor) has been an intriguing character since the writers can’t seem to nail down a firm romantic path for him. There have been signs that Brando may end up with Sasha Gilmore (Sofia Mattsson) or even Maxie Jones (Kirsten Storms) after Peter August (Wes Ramsey) is exposed.
However, General Hospital writers have definitely had some chemistry test scenes between Brando and Sam. Brando has just experienced the loss of Dev Cerci aka “Dev Corbin” (Ashton Arbab), so he can understand the costs of living life too close to the mob.
If Brando swears off this dangerous lifestyle at the end of all the Cyrus Renault (Jeff Kober) drama, it could bring Brando and Sam together.
3) Dante Falconeri
Dante Falconeri (Dominic Zamprogna) will have to let go of Lulu Spencer (Emme Rylan) – and he doesn’t know when or if she’ll ever return to him. Once Dante’s mission is complete, it could open the door to a safer path forward. Dante will be focused on Rocco Falconeri (O’Neill Monahan) just like Sam’s focused on her own children.
Could Dante fall for Sam while Lulu’s in a coma? It’s a possibility, especially since there was a fantasy episode that paired up Sam and Dante in 2018. Dante may be looking to settle down away from danger once all the Cyrus and Peter chaos clears, so Sam might be a good love interest option for him.
4) Someone new
Of course, some GH fans would like to see Sam get a brand-new man – a love interest just for her. Since there have been some cast cuts lately, that could mean they’re making room for exciting additions. General Hospital spoilers say Sam may build a life on her own, so perhaps a new man could be part of it!
