General Hospital (GH) spoilers sneak peek for Monday, August 3, tease that Nina Reeves (Cynthia Watros) will face questions from both lawyers in this custody battle. GH put out a new sneak peek video that offers a first glimpse of Monday’s courtroom action. Let’s look at how things are set to play out in General Hospital’s first episode back following the shutdown.
For starters, Nelle Benson Jerome (Chloe Lanier) will gaze at her half-heart pendant necklace and clutch it close to her. This is obviously a good luck charm for Nelle, but she has no idea Nina has the other half. Nelle doesn’t know Nina’s her biological mother either, so that bomb has to drop eventually.
For now, Nelle will flash the pendant, but it’ll be too fast and far away for Nina to see it just yet. Besides, Nina will be busy on the stand, where Martin Gray (Michael E. Knight) will ask about her newest hire at Crimson. Nina will suggest that Nelle’s still learning the ropes, but she’s a quick study.
When Nina adds that Nelle is a competent hard-worker, Carly Corinthos (Laura Wright) will shake her head in disgust. However, Nina swore to tell the truth – and everything she’ll be saying is indeed true. Nelle does her job well, so Nina can at least praise her in that department.
Martin will ask if Nina hired Nelle because of her work ethic, so Nina will admit the answer is no. She’ll confess that she thought Nelle deserved a second chance. Nelle will look awfully pleased with how this is going, but the same can’t be said for Carly, Michael Corinthos (Chad Duell) or Willow Corinthos (Katelyn MacMullen)!
Next, Martin will bring up how Nelle used to be Charlotte Cassadine’s (Scarlett Fernandez) nanny. Charlotte is Nina’s former stepdaughter and remains quite close to Nina. Martin will assume Nelle was thoroughly vetted when she was hired. What Martin’s getting at here is that Nina trusted Nelle to take care of a child she loves.
Martin will then get into Nina’s heartache over a tough loss. Diane Miller (Carolyn Henessy) will grow frustrated since she’s not hearing any relevant questions, so she’ll pipe up to complain.
The judge will push Martin to move this along, so Martin will ask Nina about the loss of her own child. He’ll get Nina to admit that loss affected her deeply and that it’s colored her perception of Nelle.
Martin will think a kinship has developed, so he’ll assume Nina’s been able to form an opinion on the kind of mother Nelle would be to her son. Nina will look uncomfortable over the question, so we’ll see how she tackles it when new episodes resume starting Monday, August 3!
