General Hospital (GH) spoilers reveal that the end may be near for Mike Corbin (Max Gail). Mike had a decent day after Brook Lynn Quartermaine (Amanda Setton) showed up to sing for the residents at Turning Woods. Music can be a powerful tool for many Alzheimer’s patients, and it was certainly the case for Mike. He remembered a lot about his younger years and shared some fond memories.
Sadly, it was just a fleeting moment of happiness – one of the final ones Sonny Corinthos (Maurice Benard) may get to experience with his dad. General Hospital spoilers say Mike’s most likely going to take a turn for the worse.
During the week of March 23-27, Sonny will face a series of difficult blows. He’ll get some devastating news for starters, which could easily tie in with Mike’s steep decline.
Soon after, Sonny will get a couple of critical phone calls – one of which General Hospital spoilers specifically confirm is about Mike. It sounds like Sonny will be called to deal with a pretty urgent situation.
After all, Turning Woods isn’t going to call and say Mike’s doing great. Sonny’s only going to hear from them if something troubling’s unfolding, so Mike may be in bad shape.
General Hospital has gone about as far as they can go with Mike’s storyline. It was realistic to make this a long-term story and play out all the right emotional beats. Max Gail has given some incredible performances along with his costars – and most of us will certainly miss Mike when he goes.
However, we’ve seen everything we need to see when it comes to the drama of all this. It’s time to start wrapping things up and that seems to be what GH writers have in mind. Although Sonny has a lot going on through his Cyrus Renault (Jeff Kober) battle, he may have to deal with Mike’s death, too.
Mike was already having some difficulties eating when Brook Lynn brought him some meatballs, so that may have been a sign of things to come. He could easily start refusing food and become completely unresponsive.
General Hospital spoilers say Sonny and the rest of Mike’s loved ones will soon have to prepare for this tough loss. Mike will ultimately fade away, but they can all keep the memories they’ve made.
