General Hospital Spoilers: Who Is Pregnant – Beloved Character Expecting a Baby, Shocking Big Reveal

General Hospital (GH) spoilers tease that the ABC soap will squeeze in some wild moments they air their last remaining new episode. The cast and crew haven’t been able to film since mid-March due to COVID-19 aka coronavirus concerns, so the show officially runs out of original content on Thursday, May 21.

Naturally, GH writers wanted to throw in some major cliffhangers so fans would tune back in down the road. There’s no word on when General Hospital will resume production, but we’ve still got one drama-filled episode to focus on. The show’s pulling out all the stops to shock fans, so there’ll be one very unexpected pregnancy!

Who will face a baby bombshell on Thursday? Let’s look at some clues and try to figure out where this hot plot is headed. For starters, Soap Opera Digest offered some crucial teasers in a recent issue.

“In a shocking twist, one of our beloved characters finds out that she is expecting a child – and this pregnancy could be a sign that a long-brewing conflict is about to reach its climax, one that will have lasting ramifications for all of Port Charles,” GH Co-Head Writer Dan O’Connor said in a preview.

So let’s see what we can glean from that. This character has to be beloved and the conflict surrounding her has to have been brewing for a while. Although General Hospital could include someone who isn’t shown in Thursday’s preview video, it’s still wise to take a closer look at these women and others who might be in stories with them. Those are our best pregnancy candidates.

Thursday’s clip features Brook Lynn Quartermaine (Amanda Setton), Olivia Quartermaine (Lisa LoCicero), Laura Collins (Genie Francis), Sasha Gilmore (Sofia Mattsson), Nina Reeves (Cynthia Watros), Nelle Benson Jerome (Chloe Lanier), Willow Corinthos (Katelyn MacMullen) and Carly Corinthos (Laura Wright).

We can take Laura off the list due to age, and Carly can be crossed out, too. She’s already had her surprise baby in Donna Corinthos. It’s probably safe to rule out Nina as well since there’s no place for a miracle child in her storyline. Nina’s story is all about reconnecting with the daughter she already has – and that’s Nelle.

Speaking of Nelle, she can also be crossed off the list. Nelle hasn’t been hitting the sheets with anybody and will presumably be in court during Thursday’s entire episode. Willow doesn’t seem like a good contender for the same reason.

How can Willow find out she’s pregnant if she’s sitting in the courtroom listening to testimony? Willow said marriage vows to Michael Corinthos (Chad Duell) the night before this custody hearing, so it’s just the following day in Port Charles. It seems like Willow would’ve already known if she was “late” enough to prompt pregnancy suspicions.

Olivia already has Leo Falconeri (Aaron Bradshaw), so does she need another kid? This writing choice would be way out of left field. There’s also no long-brewing conflict surrounding Olivia, so we can seemingly dismiss her as an option.

Other General Hospital spoilers say Sasha will behave recklessly on Thursday. Since Sasha’s story seems to be about developing a drug addition, will GH writers really make her pregnant? Sasha’s got enough drama as it is and isn’t really a beloved character.

It’s also a stretch to say this whole fake affair thing is any kind of long-brewing conflict. Michael and Willow have actually been quite cordial all things considered. The faux cheating was a fairly recent development anyway.

By process of elimination, that leaves Brook Lynn as the top contender – at least based on the preview video. Brook Lynn might qualify as beloved in a GH co-head writer’s eyes due to her history on the show. That history could be important since Brook Lynn has had a lengthy feud with Lulu Spencer (Emme Rylan).

Will GH do something similar to what they did with Molly Lansing-Davis (Haley Pullos) and Brando Corbin (Johnny Wactor)? General Hospital never aired their hookup, but we saw some flashbacks and had character explanations.

Perhaps Brook Lynn slept with Dustin Phillips (Mark Lawson) offscreen, which would fit with that bringing the long-brewing conflict to a head part. Lulu Spencer (Emme Rylan) would certainly be outraged if “Dusty” knocked up his former flame!

It would also be timely to blow up “Lustin” since Dante Falconeri’s (Dominic Zamrprogna) return to GH is likely in the works.

It’s worth mentioning that in Thursday’s preview video, Brook Lynn accuses Olivia of having an affair behind Ned Quartermaine’s (Wally Kurth) back. If Brook Lynn’s been having an affair of her own, that’s definitely where her mind would go.

However, there’s one more option to consider since this is a big pregnancy surprise. If GH is going to make this someone who isn’t in the preview clip, Maxie Jones (Kirsten Storms) would be the ideal person.

Maxie is beloved and her storyline with Peter August (Wes Ramsey) is absolutely building to an explosive climax – one that would be further complicated by a baby bomb.

Since Robert Scorpio (Tristan Rogers) will be on this Thursday talking about the Holly hunt, there could be talk about his lingering Peter concerns. It’s easy to imagine Robert saying something like he wants to make sure Peter and Maxie cut all ties.

That’s when GH could throw in a shot of Maxie looking at a positive pregnancy test – potentially tying her to Peter forever. We should add that there was May sweeps info about some news for Maxie that might derail her usual bliss with Peter. Another baby isn’t something Maxie had planned right now, so this could work.

Of course, there’s no confirmation on who will be pregnant, but Brook Lynn and Maxie fit the facts. It’s also possible GH will throw in some other curveball, so check back for updates.
