General Hospital Spoilers: Wiley Custody Ruling, Who Wins the Battle – Outcome of Nelle & Michael’s War Revealed

General Hospital (GH) spoilers tease that the custody battle will soon wind down, but there’s more drama to cover first. Let’s talk about what’s next in this fierce fight for Wiley Quartermaine-Corinthos (Erik and Theo Olson). For starters, Nelle Benson Jerome (Chloe Lanier) will turn on the waterworks and hope she can convince the judge that she deserves sole custody of her son.

That’ll be a tough sell considering Nelle’s criminal record and long list of shady activities. Nelle’s also going up against Michael Corinthos (Chad Duell) and Willow Corinthos (Katelyn MacMullen), who look like they belong on the cover of “Loving Parents” magazine. This picturesque married couple certainly has the upper hand in that department.

Diane Miller (Carolyn Hennesy) asked the right questions when Willow was on the stand. It was smart to let Willow emphasize that she stayed in Wiley’s life because the kid’s already been through so many changes. If Wiley were ripped away from another stable home, he’d be confused and upset all over again.

Willow made it clear that Wiley needed his family – one that she’s already formed with Michael. However, Nelle is down but not out! After all, Nelle’s selling the story that her baby was taken from her through no fault of her own. That’s not true, but it’s not like Nelle can be proven wrong.

Based on the tale Nelle’s telling, the big bad Corinthos clan is now robbing her of her chance at motherhood. To be fair, Willow did kind of hijack the role of mom and does seem obsessed with a kid that isn’t hers. Like it or not, Wiley is Nelle’s biological child – and that means something in the eyes of the law.

Nina Reeves (Cynthia Watros) is torn about whether to support Nelle on the stand or not. General Hospital spoilers say Nina will share her concerns with Jasper “Jax” Jacks (Ingo Rademacher) on Thursday, May 21.

Jax may agree those concerns are warranted, but this choice is Nina’s alone. She has to be the one who decides if she’s going to fight for Nelle’s right to care for Wiley.

General Hospital once again offered a glimpse of that half-heart pendant GH fans know so well. Nelle’s still clutching it as her good luck charm in court, so we have to wonder why. The camera has been focusing on that necklace like it’s going to play a crucial role in what’s to come.

It seems likely Nina will see the familiar pendant and throw her full support behind Nelle. Since Nina already feels a connection to Nelle in a way, she may see that pendant and instantly feel their bond strengthen. Nina may realize Nelle is the daughter she’s been longing for and refuse to go against her. It may be a split-second decision on the stand that Nina hopes will work out.

Based on the timing of this custody battle, it’d be crazy for General Hospital to reveal the outcome on Thursday, May 21. That’s when GH runs out of new episodes due to the COVID-19 aka coronavirus crisis, which shut down production back in March.

Instead, it seems like General Hospital strategically stretched this so it could be a hot cliffhanger. They want to end on unanswered questions so people will tune back in later for answers. It’ll be quite some time before new episodes air again, but the cast and crew will get back in the studio as soon as it’s safely possible.

Until then, General Hospital may leave us hanging on the Wiley custody ruling. Of course, that doesn’t mean we can’t go ahead and speculate on the ultimate outcome! As Diane herself pointed out, it’s awfully hard to strip a bio mom of custody rights. Nelle’s probably going to get some form of control here.

Naturally, it’ll also be hard for Nelle to walk away with sole custody considering the arguments that have been presented. Martin did his best to drag Michael and Willow down, but they still look like darn good parents. This is all about what’s best for Wiley, so the judge may insist on shared custody after Nina’s support of Nelle.

General Hospital spoilers say Nina will be a critical factor in how this battle ends, so it sounds like she’ll be at least partly responsible for Nelle’s victory – even if that victory’s just joint custody with Michael.
