General Hospital (GH) spoilers tease that Harrison Chase (Josh Swickard) could find himself in a difficult position down the road. Chase may have to decide just how personal he’s willing to let a case get – and this won’t be the first time this has happened.
GH fans know Chase nearly lost his career because of Nelle Benson Jerome (Chloe Lanier). Nelle was able to secure sympathy from Chase, which affected his judgment on the case involving Zachary Grant’s death.
Of course, Nelle has done plenty of other horrible things since then – like physically attacking Willow Corinthos (Katelyn MacMullen), plotting multiple Wiley Quartermaine-Corinthos (Erik and Theo Olson) kidnappings and more. Chase has so many reasons to hate Nelle’s guts and would love to see her behind bars.
That brings us to the difficult position Chase may ultimately land in. General Hospital spoilers say Chase will visit Carly Corinthos (Laura Wright) during the week of September 21-25.
That’s a simple spoiler, but it may actually be pretty revealing at its core. It’s not like Chase and Carly are besties. The only two things Chase would have to discuss with Carly are the fake affair scheme or the Nelle case.
Since Chase has decided he can’t tell Willow the truth about the faux cheating, that seemingly just leaves Nelle’s case as the topic for discussion. Naturally, there’ll probably be some new information that leads Chase to grill Carly. Chase may start to suspect that Carly’s holding back.
Although Chase may not find out about the cliff fall and Carly’s cover-up with Jasper “Jax” Jacks (Ingo Rademacher) just yet, he should feel like there’s more to the story. What happens if Chase uncovers the truth at some point? Could Carly ultimately crack under the pressure and confess to Chase?
If so, that’d put Chase in a terrible situation. There’d be part of Chase that’d want to uphold the law and let justice prevail. Even if Chase believes Carly’s innocent when it comes to the cliff incident, Carly still covered it up along with Jax.
Besides, it won’t be Chase’s place to decide whether Carly’s guilty or not. That may be for a jury to decide instead. At the same time, part of Chase may want to keep Carly’s secret.
Carly is Wiley’s grandmother and has little Donna Corinthos left to raise. As a stepmom to young Avery Corinthos (Ava and Grace Scarola), Carly’s a huge part of her life, too.
Michael Corinthos (Chad Duell) and Josslyn Jacks (Eden McCoy) are older, but they’d still be affected if Carly went to prison. Would Chase take Carly away from her children and grandchild? What would Willow think about Chase arresting her mother-in-law – especially over Nelle, someone they all despise?
Chase might be tempted to just let Carly’s actions slide. He may believe the story Carly sells along with the reasoning behind the cover-up. Arresting Carly would blow up Michael’s world – and as a result, it’d blow up Willow’s world as well. Chase could easily let his love for Willow stop him from taking action against Carly, which would also mean protecting Jax.
Even so, Chase has seen the kind of trouble he can get into when he lets a case get too personal. He may be hesitant to go down that same road in another Nelle-related case – particularly since it really could end his career this time!
