A popular American star is setting the record straight about her alleged relationship with Prince Harry and Meghan Markle. Liza Minnelli has flatly denied a report by The Sun that stated that she had befriended Harry after he moved to Los Angeles with Meghan and his one-year-old son Archie.
Minnelli made the revelation on her Facebook page, where she shared the newspaper’s story touting the headline, “Prince Harry Finds His Feet In LA Thanks To Friendship With Liza Minnelli.” Minnelli’s comment said simply: “While I wish them well, I have never met Prince Harry and Meghan. Any statement to the contrary is a complete fabrication.”
We should note that the newspaper is one of four UK papers that Prince Harry and Meghan Markle have cut all ties with. Harry and Meghan announced back in April that they would have “no corroboration and zero engagement” with the paper, along with The Daily Mail, The Mirror, and The Express.
Prince Harry and Meghan Markle are not happy with another publication, the Mail on Sunday, as well. As you might know, Meghan is suing the publisher of that paper for publishing parts of a private handwritten letter that she sent to her father back in August of 2018. The pretrial legal maneuvering is currently ongoing in that case.
Although Liza Minnelli has never met Prince Harry or Meghan Markle, she was pictured with Princess Diana years ago. Minnelli has said in the past that she was “lucky enough to count Princess Di as a friend.”
However, The Sun’s source for the reported connection between Prince Harry and Liza Minnelli appears to have gotten it wrong. That source had purportedly told the paper that Harry was finding his transition into life in Los Angeles to be quite a challenge, with the lockdown situation not helping any.
The source also allegedly said that Minnelli had reached out to Prince Harry because of her closeness with Princess Diana. But according to Minnelli, this never happened.
At any rate, it seems that this must be frustrating for not only Prince Harry and Meghan Markle, but for Liza Minnelli as well.
