Prince Harry & Meghan Markle’s Big Blunder - Should They Have Voiced Their Unhappiness Privately & Sooner?

British royals news reveals that Prince Harry and Meghan Markle may have really mishandled things with the rest of the royal family. Back in October 2019, Harry and Meghan spoke out about many of their struggles with royal life, but when they did, it wasn’t directed to the royal family. Rather, they chose to speak out about their private struggles in the midst of a TV documentary taking place as part of their African tour.

The journalist traveling with Harry and Meghan was able to capture some stunning statements made by each member of the couple. For example, Harry admitted that he struggled with carrying on his mother’s legacy when every flash of every camera took him back to his mother’s death. And Meghan admitted that the pressures of royal life was taking its toll on her, and she agreed that she was “not ok.”

Prince Harry and Meghan Markle got some flak about their decision to air their personal struggles during a trip that was supposed to draw concern to Africa’s problems, but there was also a considerable amount of concern expressed about their words in the media and among their fans. However, it seems that none were more shocked than the other members of the royal family.

According to Royal biographer Katie Nicholls, the royal family then reached out to the Sussexes offering to help, with Prince William being one of the first reach out. However, for Prince Harry and Meghan Markle, it was too little too late. It seems that the frustration and difficulties had been bottling up for a while, yet Harry and Meghan never expressed their concerns privately before taking them public.

One wonders what might have happened had the couple made their feelings known to the royal family before they decided to speak to the world about their tensions and personal struggles. Might the family have been able to help? Would they have helped?

Of course, we’ll never know, and the next step for Prince Harry and Meghan Markle was to formally step away from their royal duties and from the royal family. But one can’t help but wonder whether it was all necessary, or if there could have been another solution had they voiced their concerns privately and sooner.

Then again, we can’t know for sure that Meghan and Harry’s situation would have improved at all had they voiced their struggles earlier, but at least it would have given the royal family a chance to step in and help. By all accounts, it seems that the royal family was blindsided by the couple’s public sentiments during their African documentary comments.

Of course, whether the royal family should have been blindsided is another matter, but whatever the case, it seems that they were. And this all suggests that the divide between the Sussexes and the rest of the royal family has been quite wide for some time, and that Harry and Meghan didn’t feel comfortable talking about their struggles within family ranks.

So, what would have happened had Prince Harry and Meghan Markle reached out to the rest of the family before making their public statements on their African tour? We’ll never know, but it might have prevented their departure and could have resulted in a very different royal landscape today.
