Prince William Loses Private Secretary Simon Case - Helped William & Kate Middleton’s Popularity Soar Amidst 'Megxit'

British royals news reveals that Prince William has lost his right-hand man as personnel changes are going on behind the scenes. And the person that William has lost his private secretary to is none other than British Prime Minister Boris Johnson. Johnson has hired – or “poached,” as some are saying – Simon Case, who became the senior-most official in Prince William and Kate Middleton’s household in 2018.

Simon Case was responsible for the day-to-day operations of Kensington Palace, and he is said to have greatly helped William and Kate’s popularity explode with the public. Case was thought to be key in helping William and Kate through the “Megxit” situation, in which Prince Harry and Meghan Markle stepped down from their royal duties.

It is interesting that Case previously worked in politics before joining Kensington Palace. According to royal expert Camilla Tominey, Case left politics for a “quieter life” at Kensington Palace. That was in early 2018, shortly before Prince Harry and Meghan Markle’s wedding.

Tominey writes: “Little did he [Case] know that the deteriorating relationship between the royal brothers would explode into a constitutional crisis, with the Duke and Duchess of Sussex stepping down as senior royals two years later.”

Tominey also said that Case’s “experience with the dysfunctional royal household will stand him in good stead.” Tominey went on to say that in his role as Prince William’s private secretary, Case was able to modernize Prince William and Kate Middleton’s entire operation and made them “the Royal Family’s greatest PR weapon” after Prince Harry and Meghan Markle’s announced they were leaving the royal family.

It seems that during Case’s tenure, he was able to turn Prince William into more of a statesman, and he was apparently behind William and Kate’s decisions to fly via a budget airline to Balmoral. This came after Prince Harry and Meghan Markle had flown to Elton John’s mansion in Nice via private jet. The contrast was striking.

Now that Simon Case is working on Downing Street, he has been helping to coordinate efforts for the country to deal with COVID-19, and he is also slated to work with Boris Johnson’s special advisor Dominic Cummings.

And it seems pretty clear at this point that Case will be sorely missed by Prince William and Kate Middleton. Be sure to check back here at CDL for more British royals news and updates.
