Vic met someone. She met him on her favorite running tail. He runs that same path as well and the two of them were competitive. They would race each other. They race each other this last time and it ended with Vic winning. Not that Theo was upset by it. He laughed when she won and he felt comfortable enough around her to put down his mask. Theo and Vic recognized each other without their masks. They met at the warehouse fire. Theo Ruiz was a firefighter with Station 23 and Vic is willing to overlook that because he was cute. He was also nice. There weren’t that many men around that could take Vic beating them in a race and who wouldn’t be upset by it. And so of course Vic was willing to overlook him being from a rival station house.

Vic just hadn’t told anyone else about him. She later went to work and she didn’t go running to Montgomery like she would normally do. She instead kept the information to herself. Plus, Montgomery was going through a lot right now. He found his father on a gay website and it didn’t make sense at first because this was the same man that had a hard time accepting Montgomery when he came out as gay. Montgomery’s father was also still married to his mother. They’ve been married for over forty years and so Montgomery’s father has been living a lie. He’s been living a lie this whole time. Montgomery’s father didn’t even stop living the lie. He told his wife that he went golfing and Montgomery knows his father isn’t golfing.

Montgomery knows it’s an excuse. Seattle was dealing with the pandemic and Montgomery thought only his parents weren’t acknowledging it. His elderly father went on early “golf” trips. His elderly mother went shopping in spite of him telling her not to. He told her that he could pick up whatever she needed because he’s already outside as an essential worker and it would be better if he gets the groceries. Only his mother was stubborn. She wants to do the shopping herself and she wasn’t that big on masks. Montgomery often gets frustrated with his mother because of this. Jack understood how he feels because the elderly woman that he’s sees as a surrogate mom has looked for every reason not to ear the mask and now she’s sick.

Marsha passed out at her home. She wasn’t alone because she took in Marcus who was a deaf foster child that Jack helped rescue from the street and so the elderly woman scared Marcus. He didn’t know what was going on. He also couldn’t figure it out like normally because he couldn’t read lips with everyone wearing a mask and so Jack had to stay with him at the hospital so that someone was there to translate for him. Jack got lucky that Ben had been with him. Ben knew people at Grey Sloan and he was able to fast-track their Covid-19 tests. The two of them also ran into Baby Dixon. He was volunteering at the hospital. He gave up being a firefighter because it was too hard and now he was volunteering at a hospital during a pandemic. Look at how things have changed.

The team weren’t aware of Jack’s situation. They were too busy attending to a domestic situation that turned into an assault on one of their own. A drugged-out couple had gotten into a fight and the pregnant wife beat her husband with a baseball bat. She then hit Montgomery in the face with a cell phone when he tried to get a read on her condition. The police had to be called the moment she assaulted Montgomery and broke his nose, but the team still stayed and they delivered her baby and even patched up her husband. The same husband that was so eager to meet his new baby that he was going to crack pipe hands to touch it and so they had to stop him. He ended up assaulting both Ben and Vic before he was stopped. And the sad part is these two are now parents.

Gina and Eddie were crackheads. They drank, they smoke, and they took drugs. One of them even did this while she was pregnant and still Montgomery didn’t press charges because he didn’t want to separate mother and child. The team couldn’t stop Eddie from being arrested and so they took Gina to the hospital with her baby. They also prayed that her mother would step in again. It turns out Gina’s mother took custody of her other children and hopefully she’ll be able to do the same with this one. That’s what Andy was hoping for. Andy has been so mad at her parents that it wasn’t until she met this new set of parents that she realized they did what was best for her because her dad had been great growing. Her mother also chose to leave rather than punish Andy for living.

Andy was now grateful for her parents chose to handle things. It wasn’t perfect. It also wasn’t the worst and that’s the part she needed to remember. Andy and Maya got to talking about parenting. Maya expressed her own fears because she grew up with an abusive father and she had to make herself like him in order to survive him. She’s now afraid she’s too like him. She’s gotten so used to control that she didn’t know how to share her space with her girlfriend Carina and so she’s been biting back things she wants to say. She wants to tell Carina to stop leaving fresh made pasta all over the apartment and the stinky cheese just smells stinky to her. Maya simply has to find a nice way to express herself. And she’s too afraid she might sound like her father.

Montgomery also started thinking about parenting. He remembered his parents telling him that he wouldn’t get into Heaven for being gay and how they judged him. It just wasn’t fair. Its especially wasn’t fair that his father could say something like that to him and turn out to be gay himself. Montgomery talked about it with Vic. Vic suggested that he tell his mother the truth and he didn’t know how to. He also didn’t know if it was his place. It wasn’t his marriage. He thought he should leave it to them and so he didn’t know what to do. Montgomery has his issues. Vic has her own and even Miller has issues as well. Miller had a big blowout with Sullivan because he blamed Sullivan for living up to every black stereotype there was with drugs.

Sullivan knows what he did. He knows that he didn’t just harm himself with his actions. He hurt every black firefighter that was coming up after him and Sullivan knew it. His wife Andy was there to remind him that he was suffering repercussions because of it. Sullivan had to mop the floor today. He had to mop in front of what used to be his office and that’s got to hurt. He shouldn’t beat himself up if he lost Miller’s respect. He’s lost so much already and it was just going to get harder.

Later, Montgomery told his dad he knew and his dad tried to pretend he didn’t know what Montgomery was talking about.

THE END!
