The Bold and the Beautiful (B&B) spoilers reveal that many fans have been disappointed over the writing for Sally Spectra (Courtney Hope). It seemed like Sally was going to have a touching terminal illness story in the beginning – perhaps with the hope of a miraculous recovery. Instead, B&B took Sally in a crazy, obsessed direction and turned her sickness into a scam.
Later this week, Sally will have a true medical emergency, but it doesn’t look like it’ll excuse her previous behavior. It would’ve been a great twist if Sally had an underlying brain issue to explain why she hasn’t been herself these past few months.
Unfortunately, that doesn’t appear to be the route Bold and the Beautiful writers intend to take.
Sally will do plenty of begging in the hospital, where Wyatt Spencer (Darin Brooks) will refuse to forgive her. In fact, Sally will wonder if she’s ever going to be forgiven under the circumstances.
Sally will pose the question to Flo Fulton (Katrina Bowden), who may suggest that’s up to Wyatt. It turns out Flo will leave Sally’s consequences up to Wyatt as well.
It may take some time, but we’d say forgiveness is indeed possible for Sally. She may not get the reunion she’s been dreaming of, but Wyatt has forgiven people for far worse than faking a deadly illness.
Courtney Hope defended Sally in a recent issue of Soap Opera Digest by insisting that if redemption is possible for Flo, then it’s possible for Sally.
“I think there is always a chance,” Hope said. “I mean, Flo lied that Wyatt’s brother’s baby was dead and he still forgave her and is in love with her!” Hope added that Sally didn’t plan on taking things this far with her scheme.
She still sees the potential for Sally to redeem herself since so many other characters have.
“People have killed people and been forgiven in the world that Sally lives in, so you never know,” Hope said. Let’s hope Sally can turn her life around in the months ahead!
Of course, it’d be interesting if Sally ended up battling a genuine illness and kept it a secret. After all, it’d be tough for Sally to admit a real illness to Wyatt right after faking one.
However, most of us don’t have much faith in the writing team after the way Sally’s been treated so far. At this point, it looks like B&B wants this story to be over. Sally may just have to hope Wyatt comes around sooner or later.
