The Bold and the Beautiful (B&B) spoilers reveal that the CBS soap has been making some adjustments as they work to follow safety protocols. Now that B&B’s back in production, keeping everyone safe is a must. The Bold and the Beautiful’s tackling extra challenges and getting creative to make sure we get new episodes.
As part of the show’s return, they’ve changed scripts and found some interesting workarounds. Kids have been written out of The Bold and the Beautiful for the time being. It’s risky to put little ones on set right now, so fans won’t be seeing children onscreen anytime soon.
With that in mind, we have to wonder how Thomas Forrester’s (Matthew Atkinson) story will be affected. After all the wedding humiliation, Thomas dropped off the map. We can only hope that Thomas has been receiving some much-needed therapy somewhere.
If Thomas has indeed made improvements in his life, he’ll surely want to step up and be a better father. Thomas has been an abusive dad to Douglas Forrester (Henry Joseph Samiri), who once raised his hands to protect himself – obviously in fear that his father would hit him.
Although Thomas ultimately saw how far he was taking things and toned down his angry side, the manipulation continued.
Thomas has still been emotionally abusive to Douglas, but he has a chance to change and be the father Douglas deserves. Unfortunately, Douglas has perhaps been burned too many times by his dad. Now that Douglas has settled into a happy home with Liam Spencer (Scott Clifton) and Hope Logan (Annika Noelle), he seems perfectly content.
If Thomas tries to take his son back now, Douglas probably won’t want to go. It’s easy to imagine Douglas completely shutting Thomas out – especially with all these new safety protocols.
Let’s say Douglas locks himself in his room and absolutely refuses to talk to Thomas. That’d be a simple way to explain Douglas’ absence, and it would actually work well with the story B&B’s already told.
Will Hope have sympathy for Thomas if Douglas shuts out his dad? Could that help Hope see some vulnerability in Thomas and start to trust him? It’s going to take some time before anyone can truly have faith in Thomas, but this could be a nice start.
Maybe Thomas could open up to Hope about how sorry he is and insist Douglas is his priority – as Douglas should’ve been all along. Hope might believe Thomas is genuinely remorseful and encourage him to be patient with the boy.
There’d be some good opportunities for Thomas and Hope to connect as co-parents – much to Liam’s dismay!
Whatever the case, it’ll be interesting to see if Douglas pushes Thomas away under the circumstances. We’ll deliver updates as other B&B news pops up. The Bold and the Beautiful spoilers say Thomas will have a long way to go if he ever wants to prove himself.
