The Bold and the Beautiful spoilers recap for Friday, December 18, reveal that Hope Spencer (Annika Noelle) and Liam Spencer (Scott Clifton) had dinner at the cabin, even though Liam felt ongoing angst over his affair with Steffy Forrester (Jacqueline MacInnes Wood).
Hope praised Liam for handling everything the “right way” lately and for standing by her.
Hope said that Liam was always there for her, and that it speaks to his character that he was by her side even considering his feelings toward Thomas Forrester (Matthew Atkinson).
Hope said that Liam showed up, and that’s why people respect and admire him. “You’re a man of integrity,” Hope said, and Liam looked miserable.
Liam said that he was a long way from perfect, but Hope said that Liam always owned up to his mistakes. Hope then brought up the misunderstanding with Thomas and the mannequin and she laughed, saying that she’d never betray Liam no matter what.
Liam looked absolutely horrible as Hope said that she’d never betray her vows and that she knew Liam wouldn’t, either.
Meanwhile, at the cliff house, Steffy and John “Finn” Finnegan (Tanner Novlan) decompressed. Finn reassured Steffy that Thomas would be ok. “Or is there something else you want to talk about?” Finn asked, noticing that something was bothering Steffy.
“I hope you can open up and talk to me about it,” Finn said. Steffy chalked her demeanor up to having dealt with a lot recently.
Finn commended Steffy on handling everything so beautifully, and Steffy said that she wasn’t so sure about that. Finn said that Steffy should give herself some credit, and that she was as loyal as they come.
Finn said that he wouldn’t rush Steffy into talking about something if she wasn’t ready, but that he knew there was more to the story with “the kiss.”
Steffy looked guilty, and Finn said that he was talking about how Thomas kissed the mannequin at the height of his delusions. “Oh that,” Steffy said. Finn asked what Steffy thought he was talking about.
Steffy covered, saying that she knew about Thomas’ kiss with the mannequin. Steffy said that her whole family appreciated what Finn had done for Thomas, but Finn circled back to the discussion about the mannequin kiss.
Finn said that he knew that Liam thought that Thomas was kissing Hope. “That must have been a shock,” Finn mused. “Liam must have totally flipped out – it’s surprising that he didn’t lash out in some way.”
Steffy looked guilty as Finn mentioned how Liam overreacted when they had started dating. Finn said that at least there was no fallout from the mistaken kiss. Steffy’s face fell.
Over at Brooke Forrester (Katherine Kelly Lang) and Ridge Forrester’s (Thorsten Kaye) place, Brooke and Ridge walked into their bedroom. Ridge thought that perhaps he should go back to the hospital and sit with Thomas, but Brooke insisted that Ridge needed some rest.
Ridge lamented that he almost lost Thomas, and that if Thomas had been alone when he collapsed, he’d have been gone.
Brooke offered Ridge her comfort as Ridge talked about how he had been terrified that Thomas wouldn’t take up. Ridge started crying as he remembered losing Phoebe Forrester (MacKenzie Mauzy) and said that he couldn’t lose another kid.
Ridge also said that Douglas Forrester (Henry Joseph Samiri) couldn’t lose another parent.
Brooke thought that they needed to stop thinking about the negatives and start thinking about all the positive things that could happen. Ridge went on, saying that he was just at the hospital with Steffy due to the motorcycle accident.
Ridge cried as he recounted how Thomas finally opened his eyes. Brooke stood by, offering her ongoing comfort.
