The Bold and the Beautiful spoilers recap for Thursday, March 5, reveal that Liam Spencer (Scott Clifton) spoke with Hope Logan (Annika Noelle) in her cabin, imploring her to call Thomas Forrester (Matthew Atkinson) out on what he’s doing. He begged Hope to tell Thomas that she knows he’s using his son in a sick and twisted way, but Hope said that she believed that Thomas really cared about Zoe Buckingham (Kiara Barnes).
Liam went on to say that Thomas has all the chess pieces in place, and that he’s trying to trigger her into doing something she wouldn’t ordinarily do for Douglas Forrester’s (Henry Joseph Samiri) sake.
Liam begged Hope not to fall for what Thomas was doing, and he said that he didn’t think that Thomas would ever marry Zoe. He urged Hope to think about how many lives Thomas has destroyed.
Hope noted that Ridge Forrester (Thorsten Kaye) certainly didn’t see it that way, but Liam said that as Thomas’ father, Ridge needs to believe that Thomas is on the up and up.
Hope then got melancholy and hoped that she never feels like she’s let Beth Spencer (River Davidson and Madeline Valdez) down. Liam reassured her and said that he wasn’t giving up on them, and that his heart was here with her.
Meanwhile, in the Forrester CEO office, Steffy Forrester (Jacqueline MacInnes Wood) argued with Thomas, blasting him or using Douglas and Zoe as means to an end. Steffy said that Thomas wasn’t going to give up until Hope was Mrs. Thomas Forrester.
Thomas went on the attack, saying that Steffy’s hands weren’t clean either, since she kissed Liam on the cliff. He noted that he handed Liam to her, and Steffy fired back that he did so to get Hope for himself.
Steffy said that it always goes back to Hope for Thomas, saying, “And it always will unless…” That stopped Thomas in his tracks, and he wondered if Steffy was going to “out” him to Hope and Liam.
Steffy didn’t answer either way, but she blasted Thomas for being willing to marrying Zoe when he didn’t really love her all as part of a scheme.
Thomas tried to make it all about how Steffy has had a great few weeks with Liam, and how that can continue. He said that her life was perfect now, but she fired back that she didn’t need a man to make her life perfect. Thomas warned her not to blow it because she might not have another shot with Liam.
Next, in the Forrester design office, Carter Walton (Lawrence Saint-Victor) told Zoe that he assumed that she and Thomas would take their time getting married. Zoe remarked that Thomas wanted a quick wedding, and Carter wondered what Zoe wanted.
Zoe responded that she wanted to be Thomas’ wife, and that she wasn’t naive – after all, she questioned Thomas and he said that he loved her and that he was completely over Hope.
Carter gently said that he hoped she was right about Thomas, and that Liam and Brooke Forrester (Katherine Kelly Lang) thought that Thomas was using her. He admitted to being worried about it too.
Zoe protested that the deception and things that she and Thomas had done wrong were in the past, and she said that Thomas would be a good husband. But Carter said that she could do a lot better than Thomas.
Back at the cabin, Hope sat alone while Thomas peered in the door, watching her. He knocked and said that he wanted to speak to her because he knew that she was upset about his upcoming wedding.
Hope asked how Thomas could do this to his son, and he admitted that he may not have handled it the best possible way. He said that he wanted Douglas to be excited about the wedding, and that he never meant to hurt him.
Thomas went on, telling Hope that he loves the bond she has with Douglas, and that it was no wonder that he wants them all to be a family. Thomas said that he wanted that too once, but since Hope doesn’t want it, he’s being forced to move on with his life. Hope wished that Thomas wouldn’t rush into marriage, but Thomas said it couldn’t wait and it had to happen now.
Next, at Steffy’s house, Liam showed up, having received an urgent text from Steffy. Steffy said that things had been really hard for her the past few weeks, and that she should have said something before, but that it was time for her to be honest.
Steffy said that the kiss was her fault, and that Thomas had called her on the day of their kiss to tell her that Hope was on her way. Steffy told Liam that Thomas followed Hope to the cliff house, and that when they were outside together, Thomas called, which meant that Hope was there and that she could see them.
Steffy admitted to Liam to kissing him on Thomas’ cue, and that Thomas got her wrapped up in his scheme. Steffy told a stunned Liam that Thomas is still in love with Hope and more obsessed than ever. She apologized, as Liam looked totally peeved.
