The Bold and the Beautiful spoilers for Tuesday, June 23, tease that viewers will see an encore episode that originally aired on June 22, 2017. The episode is part of “Emmy Winning Performances” week on B&B and will feature a performance by Rome Flynn in his role as Zende Dominguez that won him an Emmy for Outstanding Younger Actor.
In the episode, Zende Dominguez (Rome Flynn) will beg Nicole Avant Dominguez (Reign Edwards) to sign the adoption papers for Rick Forrester (Jacob Young) and Maya Avant Forrester (Karla Mosely). As they talk in the Forrester design office, Nicole will be having second thoughts about signing the papers, fueled by Julius Avant’s (Obba Babatundé) pressure and influence.
Zende will use all his powers of persuasion to get Nicole to sign the adoption papers, saying that Nicole will always be a part of Lizzy Forrester’s life – just not as her mother. Zende will implore Nicole to think about the strong bond that Maya and Rick already have with Lizzy, and he’ll urge her to think about why she entered into the surrogacy agreement to begin with.
Zende will acknowledge the pain that Nicole is in over the news that she might not be able to have more children. Zende will say that they still may be able to have children of their own and that all the stress is probably contributing to the problem. Through their conversation, Zende will realize that Julius has been in Nicole’s ear about reneging on the surrogacy and adoption agreement.
Zende won’t be happy that Nicole has been talking with Julius rather than him about the matter, and he’ll point out that he had to deal with a big issue, too, when Nicole decided that her first baby wouldn’t be with him. Nicole will then need time to think, and Zende will leave her, as she sits in the office and contemplates the situation.
Meanwhile, over in the CEO office, Julius will arrive as Maya and Rick are worrying about the holdup with Nicole signing the adoption papers. Rick and Maya will share what’s going on with Nicole, which of course Julius will already know about. Rick will step out of the room, and Julius will talk with Maya, which will soon turn contentious.
It will quickly become apparent to Maya that Julius is on Nicole’s side in the matter and that he believes that Nicole should be Lizzy’s mother. Julius will bluster about, ranting that Maya would have been born with the ability to have children if it were meant to be. Maya will be horrified and offended, and as Julius goes on, Zende will come in.
Zende will take on Julius, totally standing up to him and not backing down. Zende will insist that Maya is Lizzie’s mother, not Nicole. Zende will say that he respects Julius as Nicole’s father, but that as Nicole’s husband, he has some things to say. Zende will tell Julius that he needs to respect boundaries.
Julius will fight back, but Zende will fire back that Nicole should honor her word. Zende will tell Julius to stay out of his marriage and to back off of Maya. Julius will quietly leave, and Maya will hug Zende, thanking him.
Over at Spectra Fashions, Thomas Forrester (Pierson Fodé) and Sally Spectra (Courtney Hope) will try to cool off as the air conditioner is broken. Sally will quip that the air conditioning probably doesn’t go out at Forrester Creations, but Thomas will say that you never know what goes on over there. Thomas will say that he’d rather be at Spectra with her than anywhere else.
Sally and Thomas will discuss Saul Feinberg’s (Alex Wyse) apparent jealousy about Thomas’ influence at Spectra Fashions. Sally will think that Saul will come around, and she’ll tell Thomas not to worry about what Saul or Shirley Spectra (Patrika Darbo) think. Thomas will note how he’s forgiven Sally, and he’ll thank her for reinvigorating his passion about fashion. Sally and Thomas will kiss happily.
