The Bold and the Beautiful (B&B) spoilers tease that it’s time to start thinking about John “Finn” Finnegan and his background. Who are Finn’s parents? What secrets are just waiting to be revealed? So far, Finn is just a nice guy and a good doctor.
We know that Finn values his work and has fallen hard for Steffy Forrester (Jacqueline MacInnes Wood), but B&B has to reveal more about him sooner or later.
The writers had extra time off during the shutdown earlier this year, so they used it wisely. The Bold and the Beautiful Head Writer and Executive Producer Bradley Bell and his team crafted some new characters to put in the mix.
A lot of thought went into things like names, family connections and newly invented histories.
In other words, it’s hard to buy that Finn doesn’t connect to the canvas at all. Is Finn really just some random unrelated doctor? That doesn’t quite fit with the show’s penchant for giving characters long-lost relatives.
Liam Spencer (Scott Clifton) and Wyatt Spencer (Darin Brooks) turned out to be Bill Spencer’s (Don Diamont) sons. Flo Fulton (Katrina Bowden) turned out to be Storm Logan’s (William deVry) daughter.
Does Finn have some family connection that fans don’t know about? Could Finn have a mom or dad that’ll be familiar to viewers in the end?
Some B&B watchers have suggested making Finn yet another Spencer brother, which seems like overkill under the circumstances. However, it might be interesting if Quinn Forrester (Rena Sofer) had another son she gave up for adoption.
If the show made Finn and Wyatt half-brothers, that’d open up some intriguing story possibilities.
Of course, The Bold and the Beautiful could always dig into their reserve of offscreen characters for a parental connection – like Deacon Sharpe (Sean Kanan) for example.
It’s tough to believe B&B would eliminate Finn as a love interest option for Hope Spencer (Annika Noelle) by making him her half-brother, but stranger things have happened.
Then again, B&B might make Finn’s parents new characters that’ll come to town and shake things up. Maybe we’ll see some Finnegan family drama just like we’ve seen and will continue to see with the Buckingham fam.
It’d be refreshing if the show kept Finn as a clean slate with no past ties to anyone, so we’ll see how it goes.
Whatever the case, the mystery of Finn’s past needs to unravel soon!
