The Young and the Restless Review: Tuesday, October 6 – Billy Ruins Chelsea’s Launch – Summer & Kyle Leak Elopement

The Young and the Restless (Y&R) spoilers update review for Tuesday, October 6, teases that some tense moments are on the way. At Devon Hamilton’s (Bryton James) penthouse, Lily Winters (Christel Khalil) stops by and insists she’s been worried about him. Devon argues that there’s no need and brings up the big story that was just published at Chancellor Communications.

Lily doesn’t want to talk about that and would rather discuss why she had to hear Amanda Sinclair (Mishael Morgan) was Hilary Curtis Hamilton’s (Mishael Morgan) twin sister from Billy Abbott (Jason Thompson). Speaking of Billy, he’s on the phone with Amanda at Chance Comm and receives good news about what happened in court.

At Adam Newman (Mark Grossman) and Chelsea Lawson’s (Melissa Claire Egan) place, Adam’s frustrated over his lawsuit being thrown out – and Victor Newman’s (Eric Braeden) lawsuit, too.

Chelsea gives Adam a pep talk and warns the worst thing he can do is lash out. Adam wants to find another way to make Billy pay and wonders if he’s just supposed to let Billy get by without any consequences.

Chelsea argues that Billy wants Adam to prove he’s the guy in that article. Why give Billy that? Chelsea blurts out that it’s not just bad for Adam – it’s bad for her, too. “Did something else happen?” a suspicious Adam asks.

Chelsea confesses that she got a bunch of messages from advertisers, influencers and celebrities. They’re all backing out of the launch of her company.

Adam’s sorry and rants about how Chelsea’s been condemned by association. Chelsea was proud of this line and worked hard on it for nothing, but that’s Billy’s fault. “Billy did this to us,” Chelsea insists. She promises they’ll figure this out, but Adam feels responsible for the drama their family is facing now.

Chelsea reassures Adam, but he still worries Connor Newman (Judah Mackey) will find out along with his classmates. Adam hates the thought of Connor getting bullied and starts ranting about Billy again. “If he wants to paint me like a monster, then he’s going to get a monster!” Adam declares on Tuesday’s Y&R episode.

At Crimson Lights, Jack Abbott (Peter Bergman) and Traci Abbott (Beth Maitland) discuss Billy’s collateral damage along with Ashley Abbott’s (Eileen Davidson) “sanguine” reaction to the whole thing.

Jack guesses they’ll all get through this in time. He shifts gears and tells Traci they’re one big step closer to tracking down the emerald since someone surprising pointed him in the right direction.

“Victor?!” Traci marvels later. Jack admits it’s true and updates Traci on the story Victor told him. Since Jack’s been looking into Bodhi International, the holding company that purchased the “teardrop of love,” he’s hoping he’ll have an answer about the buyer very soon.

Jack has to believe this has something to do with “the enduring power of love” – and if it gives Dina Mergeron (Marla Adams) even one more moment of happiness, it’ll be worth it.

Later, Lauren Baldwin (Tracey E. Bregman) fills Jack in on Chloe Mitchell (Elizabeth Hendrickson) going into labor last night. They eventually get to the topic at hand – the trail led to Lauren’s father.

The company that bought the stolen emerald was owned by Neil Fenmore (Jim Storm), but Lauren doesn’t remember seeing the piece. However, Neil was an avid collector, and Lauren inherited his jewelry collection.

It’s in storage, so Lauren’s going to look into it and get back to Jack with urgency due to fading Dina. Lauren also gets a text from Chloe and dashes off to meet her newborn nephew.

At their hotel room in Chicago, Kyle Abbott (Michael Mealor) and Summer Newman (Hunter King) discuss the fun night they had. However, now it’s morning and time to get down to business according to Kyle. “Yes, sir,” Summer says playfully on Tuesday’s Young and the Restless episode.

Kyle talks about picking up their marriage license at city hall this afternoon. Summer adds that they’ll say “I do” in front of a judge. “Prepare to be my ball and chain,” Kyle says. “And I will be yours until one of us kicks the bucket.”

Summer jokes around with Kyle and asks if that’s what he’s going with for his vows.

Kyle laughs and insists he wishes he could marry Summer right now, this second. “I’ve waited my whole life for tomorrow,” Kyle says. “Our new beginning.” Summer notes that there’s no going back.

Back in Genoa City, Victoria Newman (Amelia Heinle) is terse with a reporter over the phone. Victoria has nothing to say about the lawsuits being dismissed.

Moments later, Phyllis Summers (Michelle Stafford) texts Victoria about hopefully meeting today – she wouldn’t ask if it weren’t important. “I don’t have time for you,” Victoria replies in her own text.

Phyllis snaps about Victoria being rude just before Nick Newman (Joshua Morrow) arrives. Nick admits Sharon Newman (Sharon Case) is being prepped for surgery as they speak, but she sounded upbeat this morning when he talked to her.

The conversation shifts to what Phyllis is annoyed about, so she admits Victoria is blowing her off when she has a joint business venture to pitch.

Nick isn’t sure the timing’s right since World War III is breaking out in his family, but Phyllis talks about multitasking and insists it’s a “legit great idea.” Nick thinks Phyllis seems pumped about this, so she nervously admits she’s excited – though she won’t give Nick details yet.

Back in Chicago, Summer admits she might be having second thoughts about eloping. It’s such a big moment in their lives and they’re keeping the most important people in the dark. Summer feels like their loved ones are going to be hurt.

Kyle agrees that they’ll use the fact that “Skyle” was sneaking around as proof they weren’t sure about this. However, Kyle smiles and knows what they need to do.

At Devon’s penthouse again, he’s apologetic about leaving Lily in the dark. Lily doesn’t feel like Devon understands how much she thinks about being responsible for Hilary’s death.

It was jarring to find out she’s working with Hilary’s twin the way that she did. Devon was caught up in his own feelings and didn’t mean to hurt Lily.

Lily was worried about how this news might affect Devon, who’s been in such a good place lately. Devon intends to keep it that way. After Billy calls and fills Lily in on the lawsuits being dropped, she heads back to the office to discuss what Billy calls “the next step in world domination.”

At the ranch, Nick drops by and updates Nikki on Sharon’s surgery. They also discuss the thrown-out lawsuits and Victor’s anger with Victoria. Nick thinks they’ll reconcile since they always do, but Nikki isn’t so sure this time.

When it comes to the article, Nick’s way more concerned about Faith Newman (Alyvia Alyn Lind) than Victor.

Back in Victoria’s office, Phyllis drops by to pester Victoria with her latest pitch. She proposes that The Grand Phoenix should be the exclusive hotel for Newman Enterprises’ guests, clients, associates, etc. Victoria already had a long-term agreement with the athletic club, but Phyllis thinks that location’s “dark and dingy.” She touts the benefits of using the best hotel in town instead.

Victoria hints that she might be interested for the right price, so Phyllis quickly notes that she’ll need advance – though she’s flexible on the amount. Victoria suggests there’s just one problem – and it’s non-negotiable. She has no interest whatsoever in doing business with Phyllis.

Phyllis doesn’t think that should be the reason Victoria turns down an amazing opportunity. She vows to give Victoria some time since she’s making this decision on impulse. Next, Nikki arrives and interrupts. Phyllis mentions her venture and hopes Nikki can help Victoria see the light, but she leaves to let them talk.

Nikki and Victoria agree they could’ve handled things better in their previous chat. Victoria takes responsibility for her involvement and worries Adam is still a threat. Nikki urges Victoria to patch things up with her father since there’s only so much she can do.

Before Nikki leaves, she hints that Phyllis’ proposition might be a good one. However, Victoria isn’t willing to do business with Phyllis. Nikki thinks it’s too bad Abby Newman (Melissa Ordway) doesn’t still own the hotel. “That would be an entirely different proposition,” Victoria admits.

Lily makes her way back to Chance Comm, where she learns the viewership on the article is threw the roof. Billy thinks the answer to keeping the momentum is a sequel.

Lily thinks they should count their blessings and walk away. Even if there were something worth writing about, Lily doesn’t trust Billy to have it in a methodical manner.

Billy backs off and suggests they’ll leave it for the next 24 hours, but he does have one more request – something he thinks Lily will be a lot more open to. It ends up being celebratory lattes at Crimson Lights.

Lily decides they need to clear the air about what happened at Chance Comm and reminds Billy they’re supposed to be partners. Billy understands and promises full transparency next time.

Meanwhile, Summer and Kyle read each other the emails they’ve composed to their parents. Summer worries this is chickening out, but Kyle thinks this is what email was made for. After they send their elopement messages and explanations, Kyle goes to get the gift he hid for Summer in his shaving kit.

Summer’s alone when she hears Kyle’s phone ding and looks at the messages he’s exchanged with Lola Rosales (Sasha Calle). Kyle’s been worried about Lola, who’s assured her ex that it “means a lot.” Once Kyle’s back with the present, Summer feels bad for not getting him one.

Kyle insists it’s just a little something to mark the occasion, and Summer’s certain it’ll be perfect. She seems a bit anxious as she tells Kyle she loves him so much.

In Genoa City again, Jack reads his email and sighs over Kyle’s plans with Summer. At the Grand Phoenix, Nick and Phyllis have their own freak-out. “Tomorrow! What?!” Phyllis exclaims. She rants about how she should’ve known about how something like this would’ve happened.

Phyllis gets choked up over how Summer was looking for support, especially since Nick wasn’t on board. Nick wonders if Phyllis is blaming him, but she downplays that idea. She knows Nick has a lot to deal with considering what he’s got going on with Sharon and Faith, so Phyllis says she’ll take care of this.

Since Kyle and Summer have turned their phones off, they don’t get the calls that are being made to them. That includes Jack’s at Society. “All I have to say is stop, take a breath and come home so we can discuss this,” Jack warns Kyle.

After Jack hangs up, he answers Phyllis’ call about “those impulsive millennials.” Phyllis wonders what they’re going to do about this.

At “Chadam’s” penthouse, Chelsea argues with Adam can’t just do whatever he wants without telling her. She fears Adam’s going to do irreparable damage to their family.

Adam fires back about how Chelsea doesn’t trust him to do what’s best. He knew this would happen! “You do what you have to do, and I’ll do the same,” Adam says coldly.
