The Young and the Restless (Y&R) spoilers reveal that Abby Newman (Melissa Ordway) is ready to get her future with Chance Chancellor (Donny Boaz) back on track.
Y&R fans know Abby faced some scary moments after Chance took a bullet for Adam Newman (Mark Grossman). Abby worried her opportunity to marry Chance and start a family with him might slip away, but Chance ultimately came back to her.
Now it’s all sunshine, butterflies and rainbows again. Chance is focusing on Abby and their family plans, so there’s no more Adam drama dragging them down. Abby and Chance are set to have a gorgeous wedding and kick off a lovely new chapter. Of course, that may be when the next round of trouble finally hits.
Many Young and the Restless viewers expected a pregnancy shocker while Chance was in the hospital. It would’ve made sense for Abby to realize she was expecting while she feared Chance wouldn’t make it.
Why would Y&R pass up that shot at intensifying the suspense and making matters worse for Abby?
Perhaps it’s because they have another plan in mind for Abby and Chance. There’s been so much baby talk for these two. Seriously, that’s practically all they’ve talked about!
Chance and Abby decided to start a family before they ever discussed marriage, so that says a lot about how important children are to them. Not to mention everyone keeps guessing that Abby’s pregnant every five seconds. Abby keeps having to repeat that it hasn’t happened yet, but a pregnancy is definitely her goal.
At this point, it seems likely Abby’s going to face some infertility issues. Once Abby and Chance are married, they’ll be even more committed to having a baby ASAP. As they try, try and try some more, it could eventually become apparent that something’s wrong.
Whether the problem is Chance, Abby or a combination, this couple may not be able to conceive a child naturally. It could even be connected to some issues related to Abby’s previous miscarriage. Since Y&R is wrapping up Sharon Newman’s (Sharon Case) cancer storyline, perhaps the writers plan to follow Abby and Chance’s infertility story next.
That’d be a great obstacle for Chance and Abby to tackle together. There would still be plenty of paths to kids. Abby and Chance might look into IVF, surrogacy and adoption as other options that could give them a new bundle of joy.
Whatever the case, Chance and Abby aren’t going to just live happily ever after. There has to be some sort of hurdle coming up, so infertility makes the most sense. We’ll keep you posted as other Y&R news and updates emerge.
