The Young and the Restless spoilers document that Devon Hamilton (Bryton James) will talk to Amanda Sinclair (Mishael Morgan) about Hilary Hamilton (Morgan’s first role on the show). The character Morgan played from 2013 through 2018 initially married his father, Neil Winters (Kristoff St. John), before falling in love with Devon.
Hevon became one of Y&R’s great couples of the last decade. The easy implication of Morgan’s return to the cast last year was that she was deceased Hilary’s twin sister. But maybe that’s just the head fake the writing staff has sent to the audience?

Assume for a moment that Amanda turns out to be who Devon, Elena Dawson (Brytni Sarpy), Lily Winters (Christel Khalil), and every other connected character thinks she is, someone who was unrelated to Hilary. This plot line would be plausible and offers interesting potential.
This character came from Madison, Wisconsin. Maybe that’s where her true origin is. Instead of having her be related to the Turner family, which was Hilary’s actual family name, new characters from Amanda’s unconnected family could be created.
An entirely new family could be written into the show based on Amanda. This would be similar to the path that was pursued when Michael Baldwin (Christian Le Blanc) was introduced in 1991 and later gained a brother, mother, father, and others.

It would be standard soap opera lore to have Amanda discover that she and Hilary were related by blood. Their parent-share would be explainable based on any number of invented plot paths where Amanda was the orphan she claimed to be.
However, a seeming clue was offered in the recent past, when Ripley Turner (Christian Keyes) was pursuing Amanda. Her spurned ex-boyfriend was obsessed and Amanda didn’t press charges against him when he came to Genoa City, Wisconsin.
That was a mistake, as he later stabbed Victoria Newman (Amelia Heinle) in a case of mistaken identity at Newman Enterprises fiftieth anniversary gala.
Ripley’s last name could be revealed as part of his fixation with Amanda. Its use could be his attempt to be linked to her. Alternatively, if Turner is his last name, then his father and Amanda’s biological father would be different people. It would seem that the specific use of the name Turner must mean something.

Life has been going well for Devon. His inheritance was restored, he’s helping people as he’s hoped, his relationship with Lily is good again, and Elena has proven to be his next great love.
Yes, there’s no drama in the above paragraph. So, some form of storyline that involves Devon helping Amanda seek and then learn the truth about her background is in order, with whatever the arc-ender proves to be.
