The Young and the Restless (Y&R) spoilers reveal that Elena Dawson (Brytni Sarpy), Devon Hamilton (Bryton James), Amanda Sinclair (Mishael Morgan) and Nate Hastings (Sean Dominic) will find themselves very intertwined. They’ll be tangled up in a hot new storyline together, so let’s consider what’s ahead in Genoa City.
In a recent Y&R episode, Elena reflected on how Devon and Nate have so much in common. It’s clear that Nate and Devon are both stand-up guys, so Elena suggested they’d both be good fathers one day.
It’s possible that was a hint about an eventual paternity mystery for Elena, but what if The Young and the Restless was laying the groundwork for two pregnancies instead?
It’s just as possible that both Elena and Amanda will get pregnant down the road. If Elena winds up expecting Devon’s baby and Amanda winds up expecting Nate’s, it could lead to Nate and Devon preparing for fatherhood together. Likewise, Amanda and Elena would bond over their mommy-to-be status.
Of course, the real goal of making Elena and Amanda pregnant at the same time would be to set up a potential baby switch. Since Devon, Elena, Nate and Amanda are all such wonderful people, it’d actually be refreshing if one did something wrong!
A quad full of nice characters is a recipe for boredom. This is a soap, so we need massive mistakes and bombshells.
If one of the babies died and the other one lived, there’d certainly be a chance for some swapping. Devon’s already lost Neil Winters (Kristoff St. John), Hilary Hamilton (Christel Khalil) and an unborn child.
Just imagine Elena in her grief-stricken state switching her dead baby for Amanda’s healthy one. Elena might be desperate to prevent poor Devon from facing another devastating blow.
Then again, perhaps Amanda could do the switching. Amanda’s an orphan, so she might determine that she so desperately wants to love a child and build a family with Nate.
We don’t really know Amanda well enough to say she wouldn’t steal Devon and Elena’s baby. That’s the kind of thing that might tear Elena and Devon apart – at least until the truth came out!
Even if Y&R doesn’t let one of these four become a baby swapper, someone else might switch the babies and set up some secret-keepers. Regardless, Elena’s hint about BOTH Nate and Devon being good fathers could set up two pregnancies. If so, a baby switch storyline would probably be inevitable.
