The Young and the Restless (Y&R) spoilers reveal that Doug Davidson (Paul Williams) is headed back to the CBS soap for the first time since the show resumed production. Davidson’s scheduled to film again on Thursday, September 17, so that’s certainly great news for Paul fans. It’ll take some time for Davidson’s new scenes to hit the air, but you can trust that they’re coming!
Unfortunately, Davidson warned viewers that he doesn’t have much material to shoot. On Twitter, Davidson expressed his gratitude to a fan and admitted he’s only back to film a few pages. “Thank you,” Davidson tweeted. “I appreciate your support! It’s 4 pages. Don’t get too excited! Hahaha”
Of course, many viewers would rather see a little Paul than none at all. It may not be a big story, but at least Paul’s getting in on the action again. Up to now, Y&R’s been keeping Paul involved through mentions of what he’s up to off screen.
The Young and the Restless fans will recall that Paul texted Chance Chancellor (Donny Boaz) to set up a meeting and ultimately recruited him for a detective position at the GCPD.
Later, there was talk about Paul and Christine Williams (Lauralee Bell) trying to set up a double date with Chance and Abby Newman (Melissa Ordway), so Y&R hasn’t forgotten that Paul exists.
However, hearing about Paul isn’t the same as seeing Paul, so it’s good to know Paul indeed has more scenes in the works. There’s a good chance Paul will be around for a criminal investigation, so some gripping drama should be looming.
Will Chance and Adam Newman (Mark Grossman) land in hot water over what happened in Vegas? That’s one possibility to consider. There’s also been speculation about Alyssa Montalvo (Maria DiDomenico) potentially landing in grave danger.
Things just seem ominous when it comes to Alyssa’s fate. If Y&R wants to do something truly exciting, maybe they’ll deliver a murder mystery.
