The Young and the Restless Spoilers: Eric Braeden Ready For Evander Holyfield To Appear On Y&R – Doug Davidson Key To Connection

The Young and the Restless spoilers document that Evander Holyfield has been teasing a return to the ring through a charity fight with Mike Tyson. But Victor Newman (Eric Braeden) might also spar with the former heavyweight champion of the world if all goes well.

Holyfield’s manager, Chester Johnson, and Braeden engaged in a conversation on Twitter that suggests a future appearance in the daytime ring is possible.

Johnson tweeted Braeden saying, “It’s an honor to be retweeted by you sir, Im a big fan and I have much respect for you. You should have my client @holyfield on the show with you one day when you resume filming. I could see a great scene together of you two hitting the bag in the gym and talking great boxing!”, followed by a boxing glove emoji.

Braeden replied saying, “HVe the greatest respect for “THE REAL DEAL”! I met Evander a few years ago in upstate NY at the INTERNATIONAL BOXING HALL OF FAME! He’s a gentleman! Would love to have him on the show anytime!! What a WARRIOR!”

Young And The Restless Spoilers – Doug Davidson A Power Broker

Johnson referenced Braeden’s longtime Y&R colleague, Doug Davidson (Paul Williams), during the social media exchange saying, “If you don’t mind, follow me sir and I will direct message you my and the champs personal contacts. I actually talked to Doug Davidson about this before because he follows me on twitter and he suggested I should talk to you about it! It would be an absolute honor.”, followed by a praying hands emoji.

The importance of taking the right approach is important in any field. Boxing fans know that promoting an event is key to generating maximum interest. Johnson’s open approach, by interacting with Davidson and Braeden, demonstrates that a straightforward pitch is appreciated.

Young And The Restless Spoilers – Eric Braeden’s Enduring Soap Opera Career

Braeden’s career on Y&R is legendary. The Daytime Emmy Award winning actor first joined the cast in 1980.

Fans know that the show recently celebrated Braeden’s fortieth anniversary milestone by having a celebration in Genoa City, Wisconsin, that honored the founding of Newman Enterprises. The memorable event included former stars and a script that provided great drama.

What’s even more impressive than Braeden’s longevity as Victor is the overall length of this actor’s career. His first credit was in the 1961 movie Operation Eichmann. His first role on television came in 1962, when he appeared on the series The Gallant Men. Braeden went on to earn numerous movie and TV credits during the next eighteen years before his Y&R debut.

Young And The Restless Spoilers – Victor Newman’s Greatest Rival

One of Victor’s many nicknames, the Moustache, was provided by his greatest nemesis, Jack Abbott (Peter Bergman). Intriguingly, the eternal combatants actually had a modest pause in their battle, with Jack legitimately seeking Victor’s life advice (and taking it) in the months leading up to Y&R’s final new episode, which aired in April.

Here’s hoping that whenever new episodes are able to be recorded that the writing staff continues to advance the Victor-Jack connection. While momentary periods of truce have taken place in the past, seeing them drop their gloves could prove to be an engaging and believable development if approached in the right way.
