The Young and the Restless (Y&R) spoilers reveal that testing has been underway as Y&R gets ready to resume production. The cast and crew will officially begin working again during the week of July 13-17, but preparations have to be made for that to happen. On Twitter, Eric Braeden (Victor Newman) confirmed he was recently at the studio along with Y&R Executive Producer Tony Morina.
“At CBS FOR COVID 19 testing!” Braeden tweeted. “Next to me is TONY MORINA, our EXECUTIVE PRODUCER!” Braeden posted a picture, which was taken outside the studio and featured both of them with face coverings. Actors obviously won’t be wearing masks during actual scenes, but they’ll have to wear them when they’re not filming as a safety precaution.
Of course, there’ll be other safety protocols to follow as well, but The Young and the Restless has been monitoring the situation over at The Bold and the Beautiful closely.
B&B made their own successful return to production after an initial testing hiccup involving false positives. That resulted in a lab change, but The Bold and the Beautiful got back up and running again quickly.
B&B’s procedures and even their snags will undoubtedly prove useful to Y&R as they begin this tricky process. Tackling all these new rules for the cast and crew’s protection will be challenging, but safety is certainly what’s most important.
Testing is a critical part of all this, so it’s good to see Braeden tweeting about it and letting us know they’re a step closer to getting back in business!
After Braeden posted his pic and message, he received many supportive messages. Some fans expressed concern about the rise in California cases and urged Braeden to stay safe along with his fellow workers at Y&R. “Well, they are being VERY careful in their preparation! So….” Braeden promised.
It sounds like everyone at Young and the Restless is focusing on safety just like they should!
