The Young and the Restless (Y&R) spoilers reveal that Sharon Newman’s (Sharon Case) breast cancer diagnosis put several lives on hold. Although that’s certainly not what Sharon wanted, it was simply unavoidable. Sharon’s family naturally rallied around her, which meant making her the priority for a while.
Y&R fans know Faith Newman (Alyvia Alyn Lind) was especially affected by Sharon’s cancer battle. Faith loved being at boarding school, but she felt like she should move home and be closer to Sharon.
That led to some troubles at her old school in Genoa City. Faith ended up spinning out somewhat since nothing besides Sharon’s illness seemed to matter. That goes for boys, too!
Before Sharon faced this cancer diagnosis, Faith expressed interest in a guy she met while she was away at boarding school. Summer Newman (Hunter King) and Mariah Copeland (Camryn Grimes) gushed over a pic of Faith’s crush on her phone. They also offered up some advice, but Faith sadly never had the chance to use it.
Once Sharon’s recovered and everyone gets back to normal, maybe Faith will finally get her first big love story! Alyvia Alyn Lind turns 13 in July, so this is a good time for Faith to face some typical teen drama.
Of course, many Y&R viewers would like to see this play out in GC instead of shipping Faith off to boarding school again. This would be a great way to keep Faith involved in the action at home.
Naturally, this would also bring some new challenges for Sharon after her cancer storyline. Sharon will need another obstacle or two – just to keep her in the middle of all the soapy action!
It’s easy to imagine Faith going a bit wild with her new boyfriend. Since most first loves end in heartbreak, that’d be something else for Sharon to tackle along with Nick Newman (Joshua Morrow).
There could even be a bit of a dad battle if Rey Rosales (Jordi Vilasuso) inadvertently oversteps. Nick might make it crystal clear that he’s Faith’s father and HE gets to be the one who handles things!
It’d be an excellent strategy to keep Nick, Sharon and Rey interacting. It could even lead to a love triangle if that’s how The Young and the Restless wants to take this.
Regardless, it’d be fun for Faith to find love and kick off the romantic woes that are a rite of passage in Genoa City. As other Y&R news emerges, we’ll have more updates for you.
