The Young and the Restless (Y&R) spoilers tease that Theo Vanderway (Tyler Johnson) and Lola Rosales (Sasha Calle) may need another obstacle eventually. Y&R fans know Lola faced heartbreak when Kyle Abbott (Michael Mealor) admitted he was still in love with Summer Newman (Hunter King). “Kola’s” split left Lola with her guard up, so Theo’s trying to be patient and let this romance play out slowly.
However, soaps tend to rely on love triangles as their main form of angst. Could someone else enter the mix and provide some competition for Theo? What about Fenmore “Fen” Baldwin (Zach Tinker)? Let’s consider some reasons why a Fen, Lola and Theo love triangle would work.
For starters, Fen already knows Lola and actually had a crush on her at one point. Lola even used Fen to make Kyle jealous after the infamous purse breakup. The Young and the Restless fans will recall that Lola kissed Fen on New Year’s Eve, so there’s a bit of history here.
It’s not like Y&R would be starting from scratch with Fen and Lola since they’ve interacted before. They’d have an easier time building a love triangle since Fen isn’t some stranger. The process would go a lot faster, too!
Unlike some other characters who have been sent off canvas, The Young and the Restless seems to like letting Fen come home occasionally. It hasn’t been that long since Fen visited fresh out of rehab and announced his move to Nashville. If Fen realizes he’s lonely and unhappy there, maybe he could return to Genoa City.
Since Lauren Baldwin (Tracey E. Bregman) and Michael Baldwin (Christian LeBlanc) are Fen’s parents, that’s another benefit to bringing Fen back in the picture. Many Y&R viewers love Michael and Lauren, but the writers never seem to know what to do with them. Putting Lauren and Michael’s son in GC again could lead to more drama for his parents.
Fen’s certainly matured thanks to his latest drug battle. He might have the upper hand in that department since Theo’s so immature most days. Could you see Fen swooping in and stealing Lola’s heart? Should Fen at least give Theo some real competition? We’ll pass along updates as other Y&R news emerges.
