The Young and the Restless (Y&R) spoilers recap for Friday, January 17, teases that Mariah Copeland (Camryn Grimes) will be summoned to Sharon Newman’s (Sharon Case) place. Mariah will be browsing through Tessa Porter’s (Cait Fairbanks) social media posts when Sharon’s text comes in. Sharon will leave Mariah worried that something’s wrong, but Sharon will suggest they can talk when she arrives.
A distracted Mariah will run into Nikki Newman (Melody Thomas Scott) as she leaves Society. When Nikki asks if she’s OK, Mariah will insist that she is. Meanwhile, Rey Rosales (Jordi Vilasuso) will give Sharon some encouragement at home. He’ll promise Sharon’s got this as Nick Newman (Joshua Morrow) brings Faith Newman (Alyvia Alyn Lind) in.
Faith will sit down with Sharon and get updates on her breast cancer. She’ll walk Faith through her treatment plan before Faith expresses her fears. Y&R spoilers say Faith will fret about Sharon dying, but Sharon will assure her daughter that she’s not going anywhere.
Faith’s friend, Trinity, told her about her mom’s cancer battle. She’ll eventually head upstairs to give Trinity a call, and Nick will praise Sharon for how she handled things. Next, it’ll be Mariah’s turn to get the scoop. She’ll admit Sharon’s starting to scare her as she braces for bad news. Mariah will be stunned by Sharon’s cancer confession, but she’ll quickly recover and vow to help.
Sharon will promise to fight and will point out Faith’s going to need Mariah’s support. Mariah will make it clear that she’s got Sharon’s back and will hug her along with Nick. Once Faith comes down, she’ll head back up with Sharon and Mariah. Sharon will want to show them what the lump feels like after discussing the importance of self-examinations.
Afterward, they’ll all talk about Faith’s situation and determine that she’ll stay in Genoa City instead of returning to boarding school. Rey will lead the charge as they gang joins hands. He’ll declare them a team, and they’ll group hug as they plan to see Sharon through this.
Once Mariah, Nick and Faith are gone, Sharon will open up to Rey about being terrified. Rey will offer reassurance and embrace her. Back at her apartment, Mariah will get Tessa’s voicemail. She’ll leave a message about missing Tessa, but she’ll insist there’s no need to worry.
Mariah will fib that everything’s fine and under control as usual, but she’ll look rattled after she hangs up.
At Nick’s place, he’ll comfort Faith as she cries over Sharon’s diagnosis. Nick will insist her mom’s going to be OK. Next, Victoria Newman (Amelia Heinle) will fill Nikki in on Billy Abbott’s (Jason Thompson) bar receipt and her suspicions that he lied. Nikki will think Victoria should push for honesty and vow not to judge Billy for what he reveals.
Over with Amanda Sinclair (Mishael Morgan), she’ll meet with Billy at their favorite hotspot. Billy will admit he lied to Victoria. He’ll suggest that other people would view this as more than friendship.
Amanda will think Billy needs to ask himself why he feels the need to deceive when it comes to her. Billy will indicate that he’s not expecting or wanting more than a platonic relationship.
After going back and forth a bit more, Amanda will push Billy to have a serious discussion with Victoria. She’ll think Billy should know if Victoria can’t accept who he is at the core. At home, Billy will admit he lied to Victoria before. He’ll assure Victoria that he’s not having an affair and loves her, but he’ll want to get a few things off his chest.
Billy will want to be who he really is without any kind of shame. He’ll come clean about talking to Amanda, which will enrage Victoria. She’ll be upset that Billy’s been able to confide in someone who’s basically a stranger, but not his almost wife.
Victoria will gripe about Billy’s constant chaos and just won’t believe this is love. She won’t even know who Billy is and will reject his attempt to touch her.
Other Young and the Restless spoilers say Adam Newman (Mark Grossman) will head over to the ranch with Chelsea Lawson (Melissa Claire Egan). They’ll meet with Victor Newman (Eric Braeden) and learn Nikki will be there soon.
Once Nikki shows up, they’ll all talk about Connor Newman (Judah Mackey) facing his fears at the Grand Phoenix. They’ll also address the topic of Walnut Grove and whether Connor will return. Adam will insist they’re figuring it out together, so Victor will be pleased to see that Connor’s needs come first.
As for Nikki, she’ll speak with Victor about Chelsea and how her bliss with Adam came at Nick’s expense. A little later, Adam will privately tell Victor about his plan to resurrect Dark Horse. He’ll want to leave a legacy for Connor. After Victor acknowledges that Nick started Dark Horse to compete with Newman Enterprises, Adam and his father will exchange small smiles.
Back at the penthouse, Adam will fill Chelsea in on his Dark Horse plan and get her full support. He won’t think it’s possible to love Chelsea any more than he does right now. The Young and the Restless spoilers say some fun business battles could be brewing thanks to Adam’s latest decision. We’ll keep you posted as other Y&R details emerge.
