Jill Abbott’s (Jess Walton) offer to become the co-head of Chancellor Industries new media division proved enticing. But it does mean working directly with Billy Abbott (Jason Thompson), who has a deep history of being connected to trouble, some of which he created.
Young And The Restless Spoilers – Ending A Marriage To Cane Ashby Isn’t Easy
Lily came to distrust Cane after Billy felt compelled to drive to the jail where she was being held at the time. As Y&R fans recall, Lily was imprisoned for causing the accidental deaths of Hilary Hamilton (Mishael Morgan) and Hevon’s unborn child.
Billy told Lily that Cane and Vickie Newman (Amelia Heinle) kissed on multiple occasions. Thompson’s character was enraged that Cane, who he’d often battled with in the past, would disrupt the connection Villy reestablished.
Lily had been able to overlook past indiscretions and was also forgiven for one of her own, but couldn’t overcome Cane’s betrayal.
Young And The Restless Spoilers – Death Of Neil Winters Reinforced Priorities
Neil Winters’ (Kristoff St. John) death was totally unexpected. Its effects helped Lily to reset her priorities.
Lily’s return to Genoa City, Wisconsin, where Neil and her mother, Drucilla Winters (Victoria Rowell), fell in love and married, was understandable. Khalil’s character had accepted a position helping inmates transition to life after serving their sentences. But the draw of familiarity, amidst all the changes she faced the past few years, proved compelling.
Neil and Dru experienced their own betrayal issues, including the shocking revelation that Malcolm Winters (Shemar Moore) was Lily’s biological father. So, that part of Lily’s backstory likely impacted her thought process when she chose to break from Cane and also to pursue a revamped life in GC.
Young And The Restless Spoilers – And On From Here For Lily Winters
When new episodes are shown Lily, Billy, Traci Abbott (Beth Maitland), and Amanda Sinclair (Morgan’s newest Y&R role) will continue building CI’s media arm. The main plot focus won’t be on specific business plans, but rather the interplay between the four characters, with Jill stepping in from time to time.
Here’s hoping that Lily reaches a point where she’s able to achieve a balance between personal and business success. While the new opportunity at CI is good, it’s not a substitute for family, or love.
